And Zelda's floaty landing made it hell. I still can't beat that event on normal, which sucks considering I've done most of them on hard by now. I still think something's wrong there though, Zelda takes a good two seconds to land when she's right above the ground sometimes there, might have something to do with how fast the screen is scrolling?

It was ridiculously difficult to finish that event, but I eventually got the hang of it once I figured out optimal locations from which teleporting would place me barely an inch above another platform. :3

So, recently (as in starting last night), I've been investing my Brawl playtime in Subspace Emissary. Yeah, I've already beaten it, but I didn't attempt to get any of the boss trophies. Welp, now that's changed -- I've been doing just that, on Very Hard.

So far, I've gotten Petey, Rayquaza, Porky, Galleom, Duon, and...



That leaves Ridley and Meta Ridley -- the only bosses where you actually must go through the level before fighting them.

This'll be fun.

[Edit] I give up on this. Getting to Meta Ridley is a task itself, and the amount of trial/error and planning involved with just getting the trophy is far too ridiculous. I'd be fine if, y'know, I could start right at the fight, therefore avoiding all this other bullshit. But it looks like that won't be happening.

I guess I won't be getting the last two boss trophies for awhile.

Geez am I the only one that has NO problems on Rumble Falls? I did the event first try and every match I do there I never have a problem.

In fact I have no problems on any stage.

The Zelda waterfall event on Hard wasn't too bad. But I can't seem to get that "turn the leaves red on Hanenbow" one on Hard.

I also had trouble with the Hanenbow one too, but I eventually was able to clear it on Hard. I still haven't figured out a good strategy for clearing that mission. I just cleared it by dumb luck.

I wonder why I haven't been playing Brawl lately...

Can't you fight Ridley and Meta-Ridley in the Great Maze too? Not to mention that Meta-Ridley lacks the annoying 2-minute timer.


Unless the great maze bosses only show up once.

Boo yah! I am teh t0rphy CAPTOR!

Looking at my list of trophies yet to obtain (which I compiled yesterday, mind you. Of COURSE they posted the checklist TODAY), I prepared myself a hitlist of enemies to capture in The Subspace Emissary. The few that got away.

So I get them all until the only one left is Meta Ridley. You know, the 2-minute boss fight where if a Trophy Stand DOES happen to spawn, the trophy falls off the edge when you hit the boss with it? Yeah, that one.

I was thinking of maybe playing through the game again to get Meta Ridley's non-timed battle in The Great Maze, but I don't know for sure if Trophy Stands appear there, and I don't want to play through the whole game just to be disappointed. So I hit the ropes the old-fashioned way.

I figured I had nothing to lose if I just used a bunch of continues on Meta Ridley while waiting for a Trophy Stand, right? No coins or anything; just the stickers I picked up during the level. Well, I entered the level on Intense difficulty to increase the likelihood of a Trophy Stand spawning. After continuing about four times just getting to Meta Ridley, I enter with three of my four teammates.

I proceeded to kick Meta Ridley's tail, face, and various other body parts to get him prepped in the event a Trophy Stand shows up. Tell ya what, after practicing up on Boss Battles Intense, Meta Ridley was a breeze to dodge. Just one thing... As he's pulling the ship down shooting fireballs, don't wear a Bunny Hood... Anyways, I dodge until the timer gets down to 10 seconds, when I think "Well, that was expected. Time to die and continue."

Of course, with 3 seconds left on the timer, a Trophy Stand appears. Go figure, right? Well, I jump up and grab it, just as Ridley is preparing to shoot a big firey fireball of fire out of his mouth. He hovers over the Falcon Flyer when he does that, so I tossed the Trophy Stand straight up. I ended up hitting him with it, which turned him into a trophy. The trophy handily landed on the Falcon Flyer instead of falling to its doom.

The time remaining on the clock was 1.13 seconds.
