All characters are balanced enough as it is with the engine that any character can beat any character.

I dominated as Game & Watch, Lucario, and Olimar during online matches, yet in another match Ike didn't defeat Kirby.

So I got it, it's awesome. I may never tire of this. Though I can't figure out how to do that "final smash" thing. You grab the glowing ball and start glowing, and then somehow the AI does awesome things like Landmaster, but I haven't been able to do it. The manual only says press B on the Wiimote, it doesn't say anything about the Gamecube controller.

Also, Ike isn't pronounced ee-keh?

The official terminology is "standard special move." You know Mario's Fireball attack? Do that while glowing and you'll set off his Final Smash.
