Oh yeah, I used to have a 3rd party controller for the SNES, too. It was big, and heavy, more like an Arcade controller instead of one for regular gaming, now that I think about it. It also had rapid-fire for the START button for some reason...

Oh, and while it did break on the stick that was also used in arcades, I think it was through sheer force, because the thing was a screw-on...and metal...and it broke off the part where it screws on, and thus had to be glued back.

That was usually included as "slow motion"; rapid pausing/unpausing (for games where it would simply freeze action) would, well, simulate a slowdown effect.

Most games these days have a menu or something similar that comes up, making it useless.

(One good example of it would be Sonic games 1-3, Genesis)

I'm going to Game Crazy at 8:00 and then I'm going to play Smash Bros Melee for 4 hours until Brawl comes out.

I'm not sure where Game Stop is around here, and I don't care to find out. I'd rather take a shot at $1000 instead of going for a game I already have.

Alarm is set and adjusted for DST already for 7:30 for me to wake up and get ready to go get the game at one of the stores at 10:00.

First time I've ever been this desperate for a game in a VERY long time. I think the last game I did this for was... erm, Donkey Kong Country, but I just had my parents pick that up for me haha.

My brother is going to the midnight release but I'm staying home and getting some sleep. When he gets back I'm going to probably play a few matches with him then head back to sleep.
Its better to play a game with energy than it is to do it drained.
