Hardware stuff
Computer model: Dell Dimension E520
Computer name: Thing
Operating System: Windows XP Media Center
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (1.86GHz*2)
RAM: 1GB RAM
Harddrive: 144GB internal
Graphics card: Nvidia 7900 GS
Native Screen Resolution: 1280x1024
Disc Drive: DVD-RW burner
Trivia: -Wireless Internet through a USB Netgear thing, rock-solid
-The Dimension E520's crap power supply doesn't have the cable needed for the 7900 GS's extra power, so although it's still a huge improvement over my old 7300 LE, it's not working as good as it could be.

Software Stuff
Chat client(s): AIM, IRC varies
Email client (if any): Thunderbird
Music manager: Winamp
Video program: Winamp or VLC
Disc burning software: Alcohol
Internet browser: Firefox 2

Operating System really doesn't belong in "hardware stuff", but whatever.

Hardware stuff
Computer model: Gateway ML6720
Computer name: philipjfry
Operating System: Ubuntu 7.10
Processor: Pentium Dual-Core 1.4GHz
RAM: 1GB
Harddrive: 120GB
Graphics card: Intel GM965
Native Screen Resolution: 1280x800
Extra Monitor: Depends on my location; sometimes 1280x1024 or 1600x1200
Disc Drive: DVD±RW
Misc: Got this as a christmas present and it beats me old desktop (below), so I don't mind it... some minor issues needed to be worked around for Ubuntu, but it's entirely doable. Still recommend either Dell or System 76 for people looking for non-Windows OSes on a laptop

Software Stuff
Chat client(s): Pidgin, XChat (both with incoming text formatting stripped)
Email client: KMail (Best. Email client. Ever.)
Music manager: mpd
Video program: Kaffeine, Xine, MPlayer (in order of use)
Disc burning software: cdrecord, growisofs, k3b (no particular order)
Internet browser: Konqueror 3.5, Firefox 2.0

Hardware stuff
Computer model: Custom built from 2000~2001
Computer name: ???
Operating System: ???
Processor: Pentium III 1.4GHz
RAM: 256MB
Harddrive: 250GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500
Native Screen Resolution: 1600x1200 (usually plugged into the laptop)
Disc Drive: DVD±RW; NEC 3550A
Misc: I only really use this to burn stuff, since the laptop's burner flakes out on DVDs ~4GB

Software Stuff
Whatever the live CD I use contains. there's no OS on disk anymore
Tanks

360? Yessum.
