I usually just use either my PSP or DS for music, really... Both are bigger than my 1GB MP3 player, and the storage is actually interchangable.

...MODo is fucking godly, btw. (MOD player, supporting SHITLOADS of formats, for the PSP.) Too bad only the DS can do MIDIs.

All I ever use my DS for anymore is playing music or emulators (or the occasional Fenslerfilm GI Joe PSA, when I'm in a goofy mood).

Moonshell's MOD player is decent, if you ignore the fact that it can't load files over ~1.2MB (why doesn't it use the M3's onboard RAM?), its sample converter introduces pops, a few common formats crash it, it has a memory leak, it's slow, it's barely configurable, it's based on ModPlug, and it completely broke a couple of versions ago (it freezes when you try to load a file).

At least it plays MP3s okay...

That's why I use either DSOrganize or MODo for MODs...

Plus, DSO supports SIDs. Moonshell doesn't.

I actually just found my 512mb original Ipod shuffle I won from those cheap game machines at random bowling alleys... It hasn't been getting much use due to Moonshell being the more ideal choices for music on the go. I guess it just fell off the planet after the DS took its place.

I've gotta' say, as much as it sucks for music, it works quite well as a simple flashdrive.

DSOrganize's MOD support is even worse than Moonshell's! It plays some small files okay, but most of my favorite music won't load. Am I just misconfiguring something?

I wish someone would just make a standalone MOD player (preferably based on the BASS engine) with DLDI support that doesn't take up a lot of memory...

Huh, from my experiences DSO's is better... maybe it's 3.2.

Just take Xk's PSP if he's not using it and use MODo.
