Just going to copy an e-mail that I sent out about an issue that has cause me to have a headache and take some of my free time:

Good afternoon --

I am a resident here at Archstone Gardens in Tamarac, Florida and I am sending you this e-mail because I am very aggravated with the mess that I had to deal with on my day off.

I ordered a new cell phone and a case at the start of the month of February. Fourteen days later and still no package. So I called my cell phone company and while on the phone with them I walked over to the office of the apartment complex. While there, I find out from my cell phone company that the package was delivered and signed by someone with the last name Campos. Turns out one of the employees there has said last name. Ms Campos was unable to find my package or any record of it being delivered to the office. She looked in the binder and in a room that had a good amount of boxes, but did not find it. Two other employees came over to look and they found a package from December 15th that I never got but they still could not find the package that I was looking for. I then told my cell phone company to send me another phone and case and overnight it so I can make sure this time around that I will get it. It should be here on Friday, February 15th. After hanging up the phone and leaving the complex, I remembered the case that I had also ordered. I wanted to make sure that they were sending me everything that I had orginally ordered and that they were not overcharging me for a package that I never got. The phone call to my cell phone company started at 2:18pm and did not end until around 3:40pm. Now I understand that the back and forth hassle with my cell phone company is not directly at fault, but it if I had gotten this package there wouldn't have been an issue at all.

What I don't understand, is how I can have a package from almost two months ago sitting in a closet in one of your management offices without a notice. I understand that delivery companies will place a small stickie note on a door, but thats not always the case. It can be easily blown away or just not placed on the door at all. The lady at the office told me that every two months they send out letters to residents who have packages that need to be picked up. Why so long? She showed me the closet and it couldn't have been over 25 boxes in there. I can understand not having the payroll to have someone notify residents about their packages daily, but why two months? Why not every two to three weeks? Isn't that a bit long, especially for people who get packages as gifts and are unaware of what could be waiting for them. The lady at the apartment office mentioned a few times that it was unorganized and sometimes the information is not logged in the book. I know at my place of work, we count how many boxes we get in and verify it with the delivery driver just in case there is a loss prevention or customer service issue.

Thank you for time,
Jennifer

This is one nice thing about using USPS; they'll just leave a note in your mailbox informing you you can pick it up at one of their offices, and they're usually a lot better about things than most other shipping companies.

But regardless, that policy is all kinds of stupid.
