I never knew so many people put their computer in hibernate instead of shutting it down . I started doing this about a month ago because I'm to lazy to wait 5 minutes for my computer to start up every time I want to use it ![]() ____________________ ![]() |

| I think I'm going to pit this down to a hardware issue and leave it be. Hiryuu suggested that I purchase a 2.5" drive to replace the one I have in my laptop now. Given how old it is, it would make more sense just to get a new laptop.
Trying to resize the partition (I was going to attempt to install either Ubuntu or Slackware) fails, even after running chkdsk... with just the /f parameter. I'll try running it again with /f /r and see what happens. (Chances are, it'll do no good.) ____________________ |

Jul - Post #2259 - 02-04-08 08:09:43pm There are a few different ways for a program to determine the system uptime on Windows - the easy way, which does count hibernation time (and on pre-Vista, wraps after 49.7 days), the slightly harder way which also does but doesn't wrap, or the ridiculously complicated "right" way, which I'm guessing doesn't.
Also, today's been "one of those days" for me too. Like I sleep in way too late and I get a random nosebleed and my brain takes a nap during Japanese lessons and all the "random" factors in a round of Mario Kart seem to consistently work against me (AI is much meaner than usual and gets "special" items like Bowser shells over and over and over again, etc) and various half-baked programs that only work half the time all decide not to work and so on. One of those Murphy's Law days. :-/ ____________________ |
