BH wants to talk Emuz into letting him run a node. I'm actually all for someone else hosting a node so we have more than just one server to connect to. In this case, we'd just simply get a netsplit instead of a sorry-the-network-is-down-you-cant-connect-go-away.

What we need is a server that doesn't crap its pants every 4 minutes.

And that would just give bh89 more unchecked power to unenforce whatever rules he pleases.

There's always the old #rohmacking but it's been infested with people who never leave and consequently there are no ops.

I guess if nothing else, "#x.backup" on freenode (irc.freenode.net) will work...

In any case, I'm still thinking it over. For the most part, EmuNET served most of my needs, and I'd like to keep something like that. Something small and relatively, you know, not overloaded.

I have an idea in mind. It's just wondering if it'd be any better.

Well, last I checked, it was one node, so any crash means entire server dies, period.

However Dorksnet has been just as nasty with its constant extended services outages. Grrr.
