Change of topic. My appologies.
I just got done filling in my Kirby Air Ride checklists after a week and a half of playing. Would have been done before, but that Vs. King Dedede Stadium event took WAY longer to show up than it should have. Well over 200 City Trials before it showed its face. But now I have 360 golden squares, and all 15 purple blocks sitting there never having been used. A perfect save file.
In any case, I look at my Air Ride checklist and the blocks that awarded purpble blocks. The purple ones let you check off any un-achieved challenge of your choice in the list. But if you complete the checklist, everything will be pristine and golden except for the purple ones. They're ugly, and you are persuaded to do them anyway.
I thought it'd be funny to start the game with no memory card, unlock one of the purple blocks, then use that block to unlock one of the other purple blocks. And so on.
So I unlock one by running into a fire dragon in Magma Flows. The checklist square fills in. Huh? That's not in the same spot as the one from my other save file! I continued to unlock a few more boxes, and they were all in different spots than the save file I just completed. With the exception of the one in the bottom-right corner, they were all completely randomized!
__________
So how this applies to Brawl... The Challenges screen seems to be very much like Kirby Air Ride's Checklist screen. Since Kirby's screen is completely random, you think Brawl's will be too? It'd make it difficult to magically unlock certain things. "I happen to know that Character X is 3 over and 2 down. Wait, what? That's Music Y!"
I suspect many a Golden Hammer will be wasted on trivial rewards. |
