Just curious how many people actually want to rid their forum bar of a NEW notification of a PM in their way or if they really care that much to read whatever they get right then and there.

I notice it's a compulsive thing for me to automatically do that, even if it's one from myself to where I'm sending one to remind myself to do something later.

I rarely get any PMs in the first place so my first reaction when I get a new one is to click it to find out who sent it and why.

I do, when I get PMs. It's rare, though, because most people who want to talk to me do so in AIM or World of Warcraft.

I usually respond, depending on the PM. Some simply don't need a response, or get covered in AIM before I think to check the board.
