Delays are good. Means they are doing something.

Its not like with other games where they get delayed and delayed with like little work done.
Also remember Nintendo delayed Twilight Princess. Look how that turned out.

Not like theya re delaying the game and have nothing to show for it *cough*DNF*cough*

They are working on it still. Get over it and let's get to discussion.

The Pikmin stage is awesome. Its only 3 platforms with two to the sides, both being hazordous. Only problems would be there are items on the stage to begin with, meaning its going to be weird under tournament conditions unless its banned.

Unless the pellets count as projectiles, I think the onion-spawned items will be affected by Item Switch as well.

Considering the Japan delay is only a single week, it's probably something like Sakurai got smashed, woke up in Vegas and found he traded the gold master disc for some whiskey and hookers.

Guessing it is for Japan not enough copies of the game to go around (remember Amazon Japan ran out quick) and for the NA release its probably because localization isn't complete and online isn't working properly or well enough to warrant a releast at that time.

Oh well. Nothing we can do about that.

Sigh. How often do you create huge, possibly console-defining video games? Or, failing that, things with even 1/5 the complexity of it?

Perhaps you should keep in mind how much can go wrong before you vilify the developers for not foreseeing every little thing when they made their prediction of a release date. Schedules change. Be happy they warned you a month in advance.
When you're almost done with a game you should know pretty much how much longer it will take to finish. And I'm not "vilifying" anyone, I'm just annoyed.

At least it won't end up like SSBM v0.00... even though it was a few minor issues. It took them a while to recognize the errors. Just be happy they caught this current problem before they release.

No. First delay was done to add more content. Hell Sakurai added an update even stating he wanted to add a bit more content to it. THAT was the first delay.

I know that many of you will be disappointed by this news, but please understand that the extra development time will enable us to make the game the best it can be. It is my earnest hope that you will all be enjoying this game for many years, and we are all working very hard toward that goal.
I dunno about you, but that sounds like "Hey, if this game is going to be great, I need to add in things to make it THIS good."
