Hi! This is my first post on The Cutting Room Floor! I have some mid 90's educational CD-ROM games that were made with Macromedia that I would like to check for hidden content. These games include SkyTrip America (A PC Edutainment game that teaches US history.), Nile: Passage to Egypt (A PC Edutainment game that teaches the history of the Nile River.) & Big Job (A PC Edutainment game that was made to get kids interested in construction.). I do know that SkyTrip America does have at least one piece of hidden content in it that I had accidentally discovered when I tried playing a badly scratched version of it in a Windows 3.1 virtual PC & the game glitched out & showed some error messages, followed by a piece of hidden content. I would like to know what software I could use to examine the game files. Thank you.

The Director files that are in the SkyTrip America game are protected.

I was able to get into the Macromedia dir files by using a program called dirOpener & a trial version of Adobe Director 12 & was also able to find some hidden content.

Sorry for the (Over a month long.) wait, but here's some of what I found in the SkyTrip America game.

Debug login screen with Beta testers' names. (The images in the background are actually 360 degree images - I couldn't actually fit in the entirety of the 360 degree images, also I decided to censor a bad word in one of the names.).








"Tumbleweed USA" screenshot which shows that the game was supposed to have a (possible) "Gold Mining" minigame.

I think they got rid of the ladder because they couldn't get it to work right & I think this also has something to do with them getting rid of the "Gold Mining" minigame, also I think that they may have switched out the "Gold Mining" minigame for one where you have to locate Tumbleweed USAs' stolen kerosene street lamp inside the mine.

Here's some stuff I found in the Nile: Passage to Egypt game, which was made & released by the same producers & company as SkyTrip America (Human Code & Discovery Multimedia.).

Debug login screen with Beta testers' names. For some reason, there's fewer names on this one. (Probably because this game came before SkyTrip America.) (The images in the background, in this game, are also 360 degree images.)

Test video (Labeled on the disc as HC.MOV.) showing the programmers that worked on this game (& probably on SkyTrip America as well.) that was probably part of an Easter egg (Click on image to view video.).
