I'm posting this from a computer made in 2002 (CPU is an Athlon XP Thoroughbred @2GHz). It only supports SSE1, so it can't run the latest web browsers nor can it be upgraded to Windows 10. Currently it's running W7 x86. It's my stepfather's computer which he just brought home a few days ago. He wanted to see if A. it would even work, to make a backup of the files and B. if he could still use it to browse the internet.
Well, it did work after cleaning a metric ton of dust inside the computer, but I think that only IE11 will even install here, if that. Currently using Internet Explorer 9. Jul works mostly fine, most layouts are completely broken (including mine). I wonder if I can use this for anything...maybe as a small FTP server? It'd probably be a really crappy one though. We'll see.
Now, something to note is that I'm using a virtual keyboard to type all this because all that he brought was the computer and some power cables and I have no spare anything, so it means switching stuff back and forth between both. My keyboard isn't plug-and-play (PS/2) so I can't unplug it.
Even highlighting text is slow. Yikes.
