I've once again started playing Stellaris despite knowing better after the last 5 or so times. This time I'm playing on considerably easier settings though. As usual they've revamped some systems and I have to learn new stuff again. This time they threw out planet tiles in favour of just tiles with buildings on, as well as a more abstract district thing. Seems planets have gotten considerably more fiddly and opaque.

Also they've overhauled resources to an extent, and now there's a level or two of resource chains you have to manage to an extent. There might be bonuses because of the low difficulty, but it seems like you can max out on stuff relatively easily and I'm not sure where all those resources are meant to go...I've certainly not needed as many as I have. Influence is still a bottleneck, even more so than it was I guess.

Mostly aside from expanding I've just succeeded in conquering a slaver empire across three wars. Oddly in the last one I claimed every single star they owned, and they would not give up until I had occupied every last bit of it all, even though they were at 100% war exhaustion. That's the first time a war had to end in complete victory, even in other cases of complete usurpation.

Also I've booted up Terraria again, but I think that might end up being a short-lived thing.

I've started playing Minecraft again since my BF decided we should play. I'm actually quite enjoying it, I think they've really improved a lot of things about it. Might also check out the new console versions since they seem to have a bunch of interesting new mechanics like chemistry.

Also been playing Serious Sam Fusion which is the most videogames. Picture Rem (Re:Zero) in a Christmas outfit wielding Doom weapons and Konpaku Youmu wielding the Dragonslayer both destroying the forces of Quake inside a Duke Nukem 3D level. In Serious Sam. I don't know if I'll ever be the same again.

I was going to start playing Minecraft again once they rolled out 1.13 but I currently don't have any incentive to play it since all servers I used to go to are now closed (except for the really big ones, but those are mostly just mini-game servers anyway).

I'm probably going to take the free time I have during this month and next to play through some games on my Steam library. I now have Terraria which is nice, but again I don't really have anyone else to play with at the moment. Other games that are on my list of "play as soon as possible" include OneShot, Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, Undertale, Crypt of the NecroDancer, etc.

Been playing Civilization II on a gigantic World/Earth map. Ended up modifying the rules.txt to greatly buff Sea Unit and Explorer ranges and sights just to make the map playable in the first place.

I'm SUPPOSE to be doing productive project work, but family around Christmas is way too stressful.

so i played a little mobile game called Florence thanks to it showing up a few times in my twitter feed as well as making a prominent appearance in giant bomb's GOTY talks

it's a very sweet, compelling and ultimately relatable stream of experiences from rote routine, love, and eventually finding your own way.

i was playing it in my car in a safeway parking lot and ended up a sniffly mess. it's good

I've tried adding Burnout Paradise to my repertoire, but holy shit the races are disorienting with it's "turn anywhere you want" mechanics. I miss the older burnout with its predefined tracks. Boo. It's difficult getting into, that's for sure.

Everything was going well until the black hole.

But not for the reason you might expect!

Gains. Gains everywhere. Gains, for those unfamiliar with the game, is a series of enemy with a six-panel line attack, in a game where movement above 4 is rare. This is their wave cannon, meaning it's their strongest attack. Being a wave cannon, it has a charge time. Being bullshit, said charge time is one turn. If you don't hit them every turn it's available.

And because of that black hole, movement is reduced on roughly 95% of the map. You know, in case it wasn't bullshit enough.

That being said, I'm going to finish this damn game.

Edit: Turns out the solution was to throw the biggerest guns at it. Namely, that shiny new ten-hex dreadnought. Alright then.

properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
