Capcom released a video promoting Breath of Fire II in Japan back in 1994, and it used footage from an unfinished build of the game!

In the video description are some of the differences between the final game that people have noticed. In particular, most sound effects are missing or different from the final, and none of the music seems to have been inserted into the game yet (the tape uses more high-fidelity synth versions of the soundtrack played overtop). There are also numerous graphical differences.

Edit: One thing I noticed is that the current article calls out "WoodStep" as an unused attack name, but in the promo video it is used (13 minutes in)
