for the record i absolutely do not think that being gatekept would mean that anyone is less trans, ever ever ever. gatekeeping can be some awful shit and it causes so much unnecessary misery. i firmly believe informed consent models should be adopted on a more widespread basis. like sofi, i'm really genuinely sorry that you're dealing with that shit

 p.s. sorry for the long post years and years ago as i was starting to become more social on the internet, i picked up that girls got talked to more than guys, and i liked when people talked to me, so i'd set my profile to female. and it worked! met my first couple internet boyfriends this way. over time i guess i mentally established that being female was more desireable? and i wanted to be liked. a yearish after i started being a girl online i started dating a trans girl in person, and it didn't help matters that she found things like crossdressing to be hot, and i wanted her to like me, so i kinda slipped down even further. thing is, i'd always be very uncomfortable when i dressed up, was always embarrased. it was only appealing in my head if i could be, i guess, traditionally attractive as a girl? combine low body image with a pervasive laziness and a history of gameing psychiatrists/never opening up to actual people who can help with my troubles and there really wasn't a way for me to feel good about it - but i kept trying, because i wanted her to like me, find me attractive. years later, after my lil sister came out as trans, and i'm finally starting to stop trying to do everything i can to win my ex's attention. i don't really have any want to be female anymore, nor do i even really roleplay as one much anymore. ..and i'm not sure how to end this post. tldr, i wanted to be female so people would like me, now i'm not trying to get people to like me anymore and as a result i don't have a want to be female. and i'm not trying to say anything about other people who are trans or anything, this is just my history of flirting with the idea. for me it was never a thing that 'just felt right', felt more 'me', or anything. i just wanted attention, as usual. resume your lighthearted eggposting!! ____________________

With regards to all this egg talk. I can ask myself if I'm trans, sure. Hanging around enough people who are inevitably leads to the question. Ultimately though, what matters is how I feel at the moment. Quite simply, there's nothing to "admit" to myself and I don't feel like there are any steps I can take in this direction that would make me happier. I believe there could have been roads in my life which would have led me to the conclusion eventually, but that's not how it's gone.
