i like this theme, I wish I could've changed my layout to the christmas one as well, but sadly i'm away from home visiting family again so i don't really have the code anywhere I can acess right now.

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't manage to change the name colors, but it's a lot of effort to do that now (compared to before). Stuff that would be nice to have as an admin option instead of hard-coding.

for Xmas (which is also my dad's birthday) we went on a road trip—or should i say Rhode Trip—to Rhode Island. and i really have to tell you, what you’re probably thinking right now is right: it’s terrible to go to Rhode Island this time of the year. we pretty much did nothing and it was frigid and not at all very festive-feeling. i had a decent dinner bento, tho.

after i went on a trip to NYC where it was even colder. it was nice to see friends, though. i took this pic while i was there.

New England and the North East in general is horrible this time of year. Especially so right now because the “high temps” have been in the teens at best and the low temps have been approaching zero, all in Fahrenheit of course. It’s miserable and anyone who says otherwise can eat a sock. The season of winter just sucks.

i grew up around here and had really bad skin problems my whole life, especially in the winter. then the moment i moved to the PNW it cleared up. now i’m back b/c my dad is turning 60 and i didn’t want to miss his 60th birthday. but we didn’t even do anything that special anyway.

i h8 it here this time of the year and never want to be back in the winter again.

I didn't do anything this year except visit my mother's side family, because that's just a thing we do (and most of us still live in this blasted town) ... I didn't enjoy it at all, though, and I'm considering not going if I'm here next year. Apparently nobody expected me to show up, either, so it's not like it'd matter.

The weather here is still warm and comfy outside during the day, at least 60°F. Warm enough that the railing down the stairs outside is still quite warm to the touch, and enough that we can leave the windows cracked all night and only end up slightly cold.

The short version is that I haven't actually used direct FTP to manage the files here in literal years; it's always been either minor edits in nano over ssh or pushes to the Jul repo on github. It's doable, just irritating.
