Secondly, (this is delayed due to my final point), that moment when github SPAMS your email...XD!

This was meticulously edited to wipe traces of what i do not want out there, that is my private email being shown. god forbid you find anything that i missed, please tell me... i go to great lengths to keep that email address secret. even if i DO drop my anonymity, i'm not changing that.

Now, fatfox has the last two days been a pain in the ass, and that's putting it nicely. Mozilla will be getting a review with very VERY aggressive wording. Even if for some reason, I can not say "fuck" and "fuck you" 100s of times DIRECTLY, I will make damn sure it's implied. This is an extreme for what I'd normally do, but I've HAD IT...
The other day, Firefox had THREE TABS, AT ONCE, die on me. All the symptoms point to serious memory corruption. So, not only is firefox a memory hog (and full of leaks) , it's not memory SAFE.
Today, I was trying to talk with a new friend. That damn web browser lagged, then crashed. I luckily was able to save the PM i was typing as a draft. I was so fucking pissed. It gets juicier than that, though. The gmail tab shown in above screenshot was not properly freed from memory, it re-opened when firefox re-started. (I'm sorry, but caching the tabs/history in the manner firefox does is just stupid, anyways...) When talking with my friend (not the new one... fuck, i hate referring to people by relationship title), I mentioned that based on my experiences, I do not want to know what security flaws firefox's JS engine has. Evidently, the browser that aims to be so 'secure' by removing NPAPI like Chrome has, is riddled with potentially just as many security holes as the plugins it's written-off as being "insecure". I've tolerated the shit from Mozilla as much as I am willing to. If Pale Moon supported XP, it'd be replacing this non-progressive, buggy, DISGRACE of a dying web browser. And my issue isn't merely because of yesterday and today, not even because only of what I've experienced. Performance hits, especially, have been reported even on Windows 7 and up, and on computers tens to hundreds of times more powerful than what I'm using now. Generally speaking, the trend I noticed is this shit really got bad around firefox 42 I think... and so help them, if one of these crashes should EVER interfere with something related to my business/job(not yet an issue), health, or finances, or anything of DIRE IMPORTANCE, they're going to be hearing from my lawyer, and I will be on the lookout for a (social- ?) media organization/person just hungry for a good scandal. (and in that case, some little disclaimer ain't going to even pad their ass, i'll make sure financially or in PR to hurt them good!) //end rant...

Now that I've today/tonight experienced a combination of:
amusement
absolute blood-boiling RAGE
major concern

...I'll be going back to my gmail to try and address my gitspam. (also, i have a very important personal email buried among all that. at least one, anyways)

you can use a filter to take care of the Github emails, be it selecting them to take care of them manually, automatically archiving them somewhere, or deleting them...

Not entirely by choice... but it's still a great OS for user experience, at least. My own desktop, which is XP, does NOT have the huge crashing issues on firefox. But, it's probably got dying hardware, or needs a better cooling fan for the CPU... The first 'new tech' device I'll be getting is probably going to be an Android phone. This is not by my choice, but rather that I'm FORCED to because of the joke of a 'cyber-security feature' called using phones for verification. Amazingly, despite how "insecure" XP,Flash,Shockwave, etc...supposedly are, they don't cause me too many issues...cuz I don't recklessly surf the web and install shit that I apparently 'need' (and I use ad-blockers). From my own fault, I've only ever gotten a total of maybe 2-3 viruses, and they were for doing really stupid shit that I shouldn't have been doing. On the other hand, I've got so many tracking cookies, but I gave-up removing/blocking those...

I choose to be notified, in case something's interesting. Email notifications don't bother me until they become a huge problem... So far, they haven't. What you see in that screenshot was a bit much to take-in, yes, but I found it rather amusing, myself!

What's small, tells time, is powered by a button cell, and has tiny-ass screws and annoyingly engineered components that are a royal pain in the arse to work with? a wristwatch! I think I'll go without mine. Glad the battery I just replaced was only $3. I have better things to do than fiddle with the poorly engineered inner assembly. Fairly high-end watch that I got from an uncle, too bad it's a pain in the ass to replace the batteries. I swear, these engineers are either clueless morons or sadistic assholes! There's GOT to be a much better way, similar to smoke alarms and the unnecessary extra hassle of many to have to be removed from their mount. (The new ones when/if we ever get them all installed, load via a trap door on the top? bottom? of the alarm)

God I remember when I got into UCF and it felt scary seeing all the classes I needed to take. Don't let it get to you, especially if they try to scare you at orientation like they did to me ("You HAVE to take foreign language also this class is really hard so don't take it with other ones!!" - said class turned out to be pitifully easy JavaScript and pseudocode and somehow they made it seem like the end of the world)

God don't remind me. I took two years of Spanish at Internet High and yet DSC's computer system still thinks I haen't taken a foreign language yet…

Foreign language classes are always my favorite ones I took French, German, and Chinese classes in college. Unfortunately, I can only read a little bit of German nowadays, but my French and Chinese are still great (especially my Chinese, but that's because I majored in it ).

Ooh, I would love to take some formal Japanese classes! I studied it on my own for a couple months well over a year ago. Thankfully, I haven't forgotten anything I learned thanks to having a Japanese friend I only talk to in Japanese, but I definitely wish I could motivate myself to get back into it and actually get better at it.

Unfortunately, I'm already out of college so whatever Maybe I'll buy a book ... sometime...

The older I get, the less I want to be confined in a classroom setting. Got beat to hell in college; I did my time. I don't want to be confined anymore. I'd rather just self study if I was going to learn a new subject. It can be pretty easy to learn on your own if you do a little research and have the motivation. That motivation piece can make or break you. Lately I've been toying around with coding in C. I've created a few simple projects such as a Monty Hall Problem simulator and a simple Linked List. Feeling more comfortable with the language even though there is still a lot that I don't know.

Took German when I was in high school because it looked like a cool language. Never had a real use for it though which is why my knowledge of it has been withering away since. I've felt kind of bad about it but it just wasn't something I ever really had exposure to outside of the classroom. If I were to learn a new language of choice, it would totally be Japanese.

If I had the choice, I would bypass 100% that whole system...
Some individuals I talk to seem to think there really is value in college and school, in general.
(and by extension you're a complete moron if you haven't subjected it to yourself on a given topic)
I've heard the stories, programming courses generally are just awful, or you even do not use them because corporate "suits" like quick money, not stable code.
I took web design my sophomore year in high school, besides my motivation was broken because of my regular classes (it also spilled-over into engineering I, and art)
I've been told I can challenge classes in some cases, I intend to try, whenever I'm forced into that stuff, which will likely be this year T-T

Back on self-teaching:
When you self-teach, you're not pressured by some impending deadlines, or grades, or overwhelming PILES of debt... You can focus on what you want, when you want, and however you want. You also don't get told how to deal with "standard cases" , you figure-out all that shit, for the most part, on your own. School, at the end of the day, is comprised overwhelmingly of book smarts. I've learned firsthand that they really don't always suit the task at hand. Programming is especially true of it, especially at the ever-increasing rate technology "evolves".

Motivation is an issue, alright. I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover it. Mine is so completely shattered. I took a break after high school (thx to constant reminding me of stress things... extended now twice) to try and recover, to complete some personal projects, and to just generally heal from all the damage high school inflicted on me. So far, that's worked wonders... //sarcasm

So we're clear, I'm not saying education is useless, but people should be allowed to learn in what ways they want, and learn the fastest. School, in general, fails at this. Private schools being a bit of an exception, because they do not have to deal with the public school boards that honestly, just don't know what they're doing/saying... But, I don't support privatized education. Knowledge is supposed to be free*, or so that's what I was led to believe.

Cool. Only language class I took was Speech, cuz it's mandatory. (and the self-repeating joke called 'English'. But ofc, our language in and of itself... is kinda... weird and very hard to nail-down, hence repeating the same crap every year in the classes that teach it) If I were going to learn another language, I'd prefer to do it 100% on my own time, and of my own free will. Mandating it is a sure-fire way to make me NOT want to. IDK what language I'd choose. I'm not entirely sure I would pick it up that well. I'd do either Japanese or German, probably. Japanese more to fit in with some of my friends, German because I am actually part German. To be fully honest, I'd like to learn an ancient form of writing, like the Egyptian Hieroglyphs!

A while ago, I did some google searches for articles on how reliable it may or may not be. The general consensus is that the facts are largely misrepresented, and Wikipedia is discredited for something that not only happened quite some time ago, but since has been mitigated by their moderation staff. One of the articles I read suggested there may be another reason: text books. In this day and age, should they not be irrelevant? They're factually obsolete by the end of each year, and at the most extreme: each day. If there's a typo, the whole book has to be re-printed. Digital mediums aren't subjected to either, because they can be updated at the blink of the eye. Now, while Wikipedia still kinda requires you to know your shit, it's not this unreliable tabgled web of lies everyone (especially in schools) seems to believe. But, it's 100% free (excluding needing donations to sustain itself) , and more or less, public domain. Something the text books are not, and thus a threat to their very existence. Perhaps the real reason Wikipedia has this reputation is because text book companies still "need" to make their money, to basically extort the schools for knowledge that's supposed to be free... I read more than a few comments by industry professionals who support using wikipedia, and one of my contacts who also is an industry professional agrees it's not completely worthless. Anyways, does the conspiracy theory seem credible to you? I'm going to go with "yes" , since Wikipedia definitely has an enemy whom benefits greatly from it being considered "unreliable".
