Anyway, yeah. It's certainly been a while; a ton of stuff has changed even in my own life. It's weird to think that 10 years ago I was still living in this city, but at home; and then soon after, I moved in with BMF54123, then back home, then he moved here...

Jul itself has changed a lot too, of course. A lot of big names drifted or left, some new faces came in... Even then, a lot of people still hang around on Discord or IRC, and a few people are on Twitter. It'd be neat to have a little anniversary party here with everyone.

But probably most amusingly is that this community largely spawned TCRF, which has since grown into its own thing (even though the "Wiki" link in the header still goes there); TCRF will be 8 years old on October 25th.

I don't necessarily think that the anonymity part of that matters; it's been shown time and time again that it doesn't actually matter that much, and that people are more than willing to put their real name in front. I would instead suggest that it's a lack of moderation, and that without moderation, an environment that encourages and produces assholes flourishes. (You see that on Twitter and Facebook especially.)

It's not to be mischievous but because I don't see the reason to attach a real identity to something I consider a fun hobby.
