Hello, I'm new to jul.rustedlogic.net but I do have some interesting discoveries while I was looking through the Phantom Menace PC game.

Like there is quiet a bit of unused content, as the game was rushed. A majority of unused content is voice acting, as if the game didn't had enough to begin with. One of the most interesting voice clips are QGd9990-9994, as Qui-Gon Jinn references the cut STAP vehicle that was going to be used in the game but was scrapped and then the idea went into Jedi Power Battles instead. Not only was the STAP level was scrapped, there was going to be a level (or a section of a level) where the player would pilot an AAT. This and the AAT were cut because a developer of the game said that the game's engine basically wasn't meant for playable vehicle action.

Moving on, there were are some cut characters that didn't make it in. One is Jira from the film, she was cut because modelers for the game didn't get a reference of what she look looked like. Another character is Jabba's Porter, he was cut because his AI script wasn't working well. Then there was a droid that the player would have acquired in the Mos Espa level but was scrapped due to AI pathfinding problems. Then some minor characters that would have appeared in Mos Espa Arena but all that is left is there voice files and voice text dialogue. Same goes with Jira and Jabba's Porter, about 12 out of 16 of Jabba's Porter's lines can be found in the cache of the Mos Espa Arena map. And another thing I found out that there is one of JP's AI modules left in the map thanks to BAP Map/BAF Map Tool, unknown if the AI module works, could if applied to another character. And about his voice acting? I got a video if it right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcLzlabg2SY

One minor unused thing is a Paddy Frog pickup item, this was going to be used between Mos Espa and Mos Espa Arena. Unknown if any of its programming or if its model exists, though the pickup text remains in the files. It can be found with SCUMMREV: http://jsg.id.au/scumm/scummrev/download/scummrev-2012.zip Anyways, about the paddy frog, while unused in the game, it does appear in the movies. Return of the Jedi to be exact.

I'd probably would go on, but there's just so much to cover. If you want to look into the game to extract the files like models or the voice files, which are .wv format, I can supply with an ISO of the game that I have ripped myself. If you need it, just reply or PM.

That's all for now, thank you.

I figured I'd make a start on the article, but so far all I've done is post speech text. I made a .txt file of the dialogue from LOCALIZE.LAB, if anyone wants to look through it. Although I'm familiar with this game, I don't think I know it enough to figure out what dialogue is used and what isn't.

https://tcrf.net/Star_Wars_Episode_I:_The_Phantom_Menace_(Windows)

http://www.mediafire.com/file/eoqpfje11byeewb/TPM+dialogue.txt

I had a look at the video, I don't know if you made it yourself but either way, would you be able to upload any available unused audio dialogue?

Also, for some reason the source template isn't letting me link to the old forum where I got some of my info from, even though I think I'm using it correctly, it just says "source needed".

Another thing to note is that a game cheat makes the text "debug 1" and "debug 2" appear but I've no idea what this does or if it actually makes any debugging functions available. More here:

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
