I'm playing Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition. I like creative mode. It's something I can endlessly zone out and build in. I really liked the Vita version of the game but never really touched the PS4 version except to transfer my world from Vita and continue the world I was building.

Otherwise, I'm still playing Breath of the Wild because of the fun, open exploring and finishing off sidequests and other smaller things to do. Finally maxed out all of my inventory slots last night.

Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ and Puyo Puyo Tetris are sort of on my Switch backlog. I haven't played them a whole lot since I picked them up but they're fun in their own right. Just never found the right time/mood to play them in.

Tried starting the latest Fire Emblem game on the 3DS but can't seem to get into it (same with Awakening ... although, I did play Fates through Birthright and some of Conquest and Revelation).

Oh and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Lots of that.

I bet FE Echoes last week and now I'm replaying it. It's been a lot of fun and the story is great.

I've also been playing Tropical Freeze again. That's definitely my favorite platformer, even better than DKC2!

I've finished Final Fantasy 1, 2, 3, Lufia 2, Final Fantasy 4, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 5, Earthbound, Final Fantasy 6: Brave New World...

Next on the list is a break from the JRPGs with Neverwinter Nights. (Edit: Maybe. I'd forgotten how badly it handles some things...)

I've also picked up Black Desert Online with a few friends. Combat's fun but I'm finding myself more interested in the Life skills - gathering, crafting, etc.

And the Wipeout Omega Collection. Extreme-G is dead and so is F-Zero, at least there's still Wipeout. Even if it is just enhanced ports.

Oh, and Extreme-G 2's PC port. It's... rough. It's old, and the people who own it now don't have the source code to fix some of it. But, it's still Extreme-G.

I'm kind of hoping we'll see a return of F-Zero in the next few months, but maybe it really is dead. My only experience with Wipeout was the PSP game, and then mostly because it let you access a web browser before the PSP officially had one.

Captain Falcon was in Nintendo Land a few years ago, so they haven't totally forgotten about him...

Just finished Persona 5 (which was DAMN good) and now I've moved onto Horizon Zero Dawn, at least until the Breath of the Wild DLC comes out.

HZD is pretty great so far? Everything about it screams polish, and the combat's tight.

Got Disgaea 5 Complete as soon as it came out over a month ago, and I've been basically playing it non-stop! I've already beaten everything in the game (on easiest difficulty) so there's nothing new left, but I still play because there's plenty more I wanna do: max out some pieces of equipment, clear the hardest postgame challenges on highest difficulty, collect every single item...

I've been doing a lot of tests to figure things out about the game; one of the things I learned early on was that different weapons have different random damage spread, and axes happen to have the widest spread (from +0% to +29% ATK). Therefore on average they'll do the most damage... so of course at that point I decided I wanted to max out an axe for my main unit. The problem is that axes start with negative base HIT/SPD, and the main way to boost item stats through the Item World, Training Bonuses, multiplies the base stat. There are ways to give tiny – but flat – additive boosts to the base stat, but at some point the base stat gets too negative and you can't "fix" it and get it back to positive...

Thankfully I did the math and found out that it is possible on carnage rank 1 axes (but not any higher), which includes all the 'fun weapons' with unique innocents (and their special effects), at which point I decided to max out a Trophy (because of its flavor text). After a lot of effort I managed to salvage SPD enough that it was equal to HIT, and after still more effort, just earlier today I finally got both HIT and SPD to be positive:

...Though I still need to actually start powering it up until every stat reaches the 2 million stat cap. Plenty more to go!...

Holy shit. That's an amazing level of detail.

Can you write up the fastest way to grind shards/extracts that won't bore me senseless? I burnt out on that game because it just didn't feel rewarding doing the Asagi map over and over, since I couldn't reach 20 stars.

Drakengard 3 because I love Yoko Taro now and I think this game makes me a masochist.

It is SO Access Games, I'm pretty sure it's built upon some of the same tech and engine as Deadly Premonition. So it has zero budget. It's awesomely bad but I've weirdly had a fun time through it. Getting all the weapons now to unlock Branch D.

Despite how clunky and broken the game is, the cutscenes are really well done so I guess Access Studios has some talent there.

I managed to get a new copy of the Master Chief Collection limited edition for £18! Multiplayer map book, steel case and a code for a DLC! So now I'm playing through Halo Anniversary again. Just finished Assault on the Control Room, so now I'm at the part where the game goes right downhill :V

Also, managed to secure a copy of Samus Returns Legacy Edition, so I'll be playing that in 64 days!

This is kind of a challenge, since no matter what method you choose you'll need to grind on a single map a bunch until your total extracts reach 9 999 999... You want it to be efficient and mindless, so I'll avoid setups that require spell buffs or Magichange; also I know you're avoiding unique characters and the Sage class so I'll avoid anything from those too. A large part of the grind is actually preparing for it, haha.

20* carnage Asagi stage is probably way more efficient (doing the math, it'd take up to 27 runs with Metallia), but without a Sage's Land Decimator or Metallia's Greedy Mekhashefa, second-best is probably carnage Martial Training 4: at 20* it would take just over 200 runs, but each run should take way less set-up. The main problem is that the bears have about 1.1 billion HP, and (let's be conservative) 40 million DEF, and if you don't want to whittle them down then you essentially need to one-shot all nine with the 3x3 capture skill...

You can use a curry with 100 Thimbles as extra ingredients in order to get 100% guaranteed crits (which by default deal +50% total damage), then use a 100 Professional innocent to get another +100% damage so that crits deal 2.5x total. Then you can use Dark Knight's 4-slot evility Purgatory, which makes attacks deal 1.5x damage if they're crits. Thus you're guaranteed to deal 3.75x base damage with one innocent and only four evility slots!

At this point you still need to effectively deal about 295 million damage in one hit; bears have -25% resistance to fire, and -30% resistance to sword, so if you equip a sword in your main hand and a weapon with unique innocent Burner (to turn neutral attacks into fire attacks) in offhand then you take advantage of both weaknesses and only need to deal about 182 million damage.

Simplified to ignore all of the above, the damage formula is:
Damage = [SkillPower% * ATK * (100% + ATKbuffs%) - (DEF/2)] * (100% + DamageBuffs%)
From my very limited tests, the Capture 3 skill has about 175% skill power (where a regular attack is 100%); you want to maximize +stats% evilities and +ATK% evilities in order to overcome the bears' 40 million DEF, but then also stack +damage% evilities afterwards.

Assuming you have 10 million basic stats, then your first priority should be reaching +100% stats so that you have 20 million ATK. Taste of Victory is a 1-slot evility earned from Demon-level Chara World (or above) that gives +1% stats per map clear of the current map, so eventually it's gonna reach +100% which is basically perfect for this. Otherwise you could run 1-slot Cyan Power (+20%) and 1-slot Unstable Power (+50%) for a while.

You probably only have two free unique evility slots (from the 10000 mana bill, and the carnage Prinny overlord), but you're able to get the full two rows of common evilities so I'll assume you have all of that available. I think the following list of +ATK% and +damage% evilities is probably optimal:

- Assault Attack is notable here, since you want to attack the 3x3 group from their backside anyways (for side-/back-attack bonus damage), so if the unit isn't flying then they'll move 12 panels to go around them all (equip some carnage shoes), for +120% damage. It's a good thing that a Valkyrie is your main unit!
- Elemental Force reflects your current elemental resistance as an ATK% buff when you use that element; since you're using a fire attack (thanks to Burner), you'd want a 100 Firefighter in order to reach 99 fire resistance, for an easy +99% ATK;
- Magic Bundle is +30% ATK but skills cost 50% more SP.

- Over Limit (5 slots) gives +50% ATK but you lose 10% SP every end of turn; not an issue if you successfully capture all nine bears on turn 1;
- Mana Scarcity (4 slots), an Overlord-difficulty Chara World evility, gives +50% ATK but you only gain 30% mana;
- Attack Weakness (4 slots) gives +50% damage when hitting an enemy's elemental weakness.

With all of this, overall you have +229% ATK and +170% damage, so with 20 million attack, Capture 3's 175% skill power, and the bears' 40 million defense, you deal almost 257 million damage before weaknesses and crit multipliers; way more than the necessary 182 million!

The last issue is that, well, accuracy is based on your HIT and the enemy's SPD; if you only used your Valkyrie then you'd have about 60% accuracy when attacking from behind. Sadly there are no evilities that increase accuracy, and you can't increase your HIT stat without better equipment... The only way to reliably boost accuracy at this point is by having a second unit with the Assist evility in order to force it to 100% accuracy; thus you'd need to take out this second unit, target any bear, then move your Valkyrie behind the bears and use the Capture 3 skill. Set up correctly you should have 100% accuracy and one-shot all nine bears, and therefore guarantee their capture!

Then just run the map 200-ish times (making sure to subdue and extract before the prison reaches 128, so I guess go back every 10 runs?), and combine all the extracts, and you should finally have a capped extract of 10 million bonus stats!

Man, Mario Party 5's Story Mode kind of sucks. 90% of the mini-games are duels, and most of the time I'll already know if I'll have a chance to win or not just based on the mini-game that appears. There's just too many button mashing and luck based mini-games.

At least Card Party is still cool though, probably more than the actual game itself at times.

Now, back to playing Mario Party 4, need to get all the presents after all, that and also it's much more fun to play.

Beat Halo. Much less frustrating than my first time around, so I guess I figured out some nice new tactics. Went through, got every Terminal and most of the skulls. Now working on Halo 2 Anniversary and I'm more than half way through already. Games never last with me.

The best part of Halo 2 is still exploring all the multiplayer levels (but not actually fighting in them). There was a surprisingly large amount of crap out-of-bounds.

Halo 2 Anniversary is still kind of the only reason why I'd ever want an Xbox One, but yeah. I still like Halo 1 the most, but I like Halo 2 more everytime I go back to it and the remaster looks great. And despite being a cut/problematic development, it's still longer than Halo 3 and Reach combined somehow.

Welp, beat Halo 2. I've never actually tried the multiplayer on any Halo game. I really should, given that the Master Chief Collection now exposes original Halo maps to Xbox Live for the first time, but I have nobody to play it with. I do love exploring multiplayer maps to see what I can find. I spent some time on the Metroid Prime 2 multiplayer maps performing some glitches, which was a load of fun.

I've found I enjoyed Halo 2 more than Halo 1. The Flood sections in 2 are way less annoying, probably by virtue of the fact that they're almost entirely done as the Arbiter, and you can just cloak and run past them all. You also don't have to deal with the godawful Library level, and none of the endgame is anywhere near as hard or tedious as Two Betrayals was. And yeah, the remaster is absolutely beautiful. I like how the game encourages you to compare classic and remastered mode by offering achievements for Halo 1 and 2 for seeing all the levels in both forms. The fact that they went back over Halo CE Anniversary and touched it up even more for the MCC was great, though Halo 2's remaster went so far beyond what Halo 1 did. All the sounds, music and VO were redone, and the cutscenes were pre-rendered as opposed to being in-engine, so they looked amazing, and you can even swap graphics mode mid-cutscene, which wasn't something you could do in Halo 1.

Now, I need to go back to Halo 1, pick up a few skulls I missed, then go back to Halo 2 and find the one terminal I missed. Shame the skulls in Halo 2 are Legendary only; I won't be getting them.

yeah, getting the Xbox One was so worth it.

That's strange, in the 360 version of Halo 1 Anniversary you can switch the graphics on the fly. Not the music though, and I didn't like the new arrangement as much as the original OST.

You can change the graphics mode in Halo 1, but only while you're in control of Master Chief, so you can't change mid-cutscene, or in scripted sequences like the crash-landing recovery at the beginning of the Halo level. Halo 2 Anniversary rectified this. They also took away the fade-out/fade-in when the graphics swap, which is much nicer in my opinion.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
