With temperatures dropping and snow falling for the first time this season, I started thinking about how much I want it to be warm again and decided to make this thread.

I think I'd like to have Spring all year, but considering the places in the world I'd have as options (I can't think of any except for Kunming, which is known in China as having "all seasons like Spring"), and the fact that summer means beach weather, I vote for summer all year. Which means that I'm out of place in the US northeast and at some point in the future will probably end up living in the tropics, maybe

I feel like the cold makes me want to go out less, which is annoying, because it results in less physical activity, and I do fewer fun activities too (like going to parks and hiking).

How about you?

Fall/spring all the time. Cause summer here is fucking ultra hot, and winter is way too cold. Just stay at a temperature where I can have my window open year round, please!

Summer here is so scorching that going outside for more than a few minutes is absolutely suffering. Winter is too cold to do much, either, but right now the temperatures are pretty mild (50°F).

Though one thing that I would miss from the hot summers is the fun of getting into a cool pool

That's why I can't go for Spring all year; I love going to the beach. Owning a pool in a tropical area would be so awesome, too. Also Spring/Fall are constantly plagued with the "too cold for no extra layers in the morning, too hot for even a thin hoodie in the afternoon" thing that I hate.

In general I'm more of a summer person than a winter person… however! Winters are all right after snowfall to brighten things up a bit, and a good bright winter day spent in the ski slope, followed by a cozy evening in front of the fireplace with hot chocolate… well, I wouldn't want to miss out on that either. So I guess I like both summer and winter. Late spring is quite nice too, as is early autumn with the nice yellow-red colours everywhere.

I guess the one season I'd want to get rid of is the time of slush between winter and spring . And I'd like winters to be a bit more snow-y; I want snow during all of december.

I would have said winter but because winter over here never ever goes below 0ºC/32ºF (the day it was 1ºC everyone was freaking out) I don't think I can even call it winter, it's more like fall really.

I have the exact same issue except it's in summer instead. The heat makes me feel so tired and weak all day, and there's not much you can do to combat it, where in the winter you generally can just wear more clothes and be mostly fine. Plus on the winter here it rains ligthly yet on a fixed pattern, while on summer it's like HAVE A TON OF RAIN ALL OF A SUDDEN oh wait it's gone.

A recent issue is that, if it's hot enough and humid, my skin can start getting irritaded all over with red marks and it itches so much, it really sucks. I don't know why it started, but it's only on hot temperatures that it does happen so, another reason for me not to like the summer.

i'm really fond of the Csb climate under the Köppen climate classification. mild, wet winters/mild dry summers is the way to go. i think it's the second rarest¹ climate out there.

anyway, this climate is mostly in areas near oceans + mountains & results in beautiful lush greens i think. i'm not sure if i'd trade this for another climate. the summers are lovely & the winters are so atmospheric + moody.



¹ Csc is the rarest & exists really only high up in mountainous areas near Csb climates.

I don't really care too much what season it is, as long as it's not winter. I sorta get tired of all the ugly snowstorms and having to deal with unsafe weather temperatures.

But also it's because it's way easier for me to cool down than it is for me to warm up.

I know right, it's what I like most about Portugal, you get multiple growing seasons too which makes off grid life easy, storms in these climates are spectacular!
