I´m not sure what is was in the Genesis/megadrive version of Boogerman, im stumbled at many years ago but never thinks about it. Sure it was poorly programmed game so it has some hiccups and causes to show leftover thing.

Maybe here can bring some shed at this. I'm explaining how to get this, but isn't so sure 100%..

If you pauses the game and it get darker. But you can see a scrambled menu at upper screen. If you mashes at a,b and c buttons (Something button combo?) so it comes a blinking cursor or supposed text there in scrambled menu and you can navigate. I tried select any of they but it don't happens some or set something flag which i cant see.

I'm a bit surprised it didnt mentions in TCRF's Boogerman page.

Hope you all can complete my curiously at this.

I checked up again the game.
It appears was a normal menu that came down when I pressed B while it is paused.
So the menu have options to turn off HUD, set stereo/mono, music and sfx.

Don't know if the manual mentions anything about the menu.

So I was playing a corrupted version of the game then. My bad
