This is another project of mine. Basically, the WiiU gamepad has the potential to be a standalone system, and I want to hack it to be that. The goal is to run independent software on the gamepad but also document it, it's an interesting system.
Current documentation Noting that for now, all the documentation is guesswork based on the firmware code. I'll soon be able to run custom code on the gamepad and test things, though. The gamepad is also a good device for getting into hacking, for a variety of reasons: * Relatively easy hardware hacking. The Flash chip that holds the firmware has big enough connections. You also get a truckload of test points you can solder to. * No security. It runs unsigned, unencrypted code. * Firmware can be updated via wifi, which would make for a good way to upload homebrew to a gamepad without hardware hacking. ____________________ Kuribo64 -- NSMB2 hacking and other crap |
