(Please enjoy celebrating your relevant winter-time holiday.)

Talk about your holiday here! What you got, what you gave, how your time has been, if you're doing anything special.

Edit: welp. No emojis for us It was supposed to be a Christmas tree. I guess I have to use the entity code instead: 🎄

The Christmas gift I got was... that I don't feel sick anymore. Heh.

Other than that, I'm back to the "let's have fun with PHP and hope for the best" time. Maybe the result of this will come out as a gift, maybe not.

Happy Yule everyone! ^o^

The only thing I got was a home stitched wool hat, but then again, the only one I trade gifts with anymore is my mom.

This year, I expected nothing. I do not really "do" Christmas any more, other than to visit family.

Regardless:

• $125 in cash.
• $15 in Subway gift card.
• A pair of crew-cut socks. I normally wear the lower-cut ones, but socks are socks.
• A 1000-piece A Christmas Story jigsaw puzzle Raspberry and I (and Inu/BMF, to a lesser extent) are working on.

It was nice getting to see the family again, but I wish my mother had did not do what she did. That is a story for another topic some time, though.

The evening of Christmas Eve is spent with my grandfather (dad's side) at his house (in town). This year there were even more of his great-grandchildren, one of which apparently turned the oven on. Other than that, it was loud, obnoxious, and left me with a headache. My father and his wife were there earlier, but left before I arrived. I haven't seen him in a while. This is the second year without grandma. While things weren't quite as solemn as they were last year, I don't know if it'll ever be normal again.

The afternoon of Christmas Day is usually spent at my grandmother (mom's side). This side of the family doesn't have any major great-grandchildren, but a few other friends of the family come. It was largely pleasant and we had a nice time together (with the previous exception...). She has a few French bulldogs and they're always a treat to play with.

Tonight was spent with the rest of the Romhaus crew (BMF, Inuyasha, Raspberry) at a local arcade, alone. We played some pinball, had a mediocre cool pizza and a less-than-mediocre Albertson's deli sandwich, but it was nice to all get out of the house together considering our days off generally don't align.

Tomorrow starts a two-week vacation for me, which is my gift to myself

Heh, I got some nifty shit, like a cooking book or a DVD/bluray drive that I can connect to Pancake (the absurdly flat laptop with no disc drive). Pretty cool.

I also get to see family and all. We already don't meet often, and it's even left often since I moved out the last Summer. More family is coming for the New Year, it's going to be great.

My presence is also convenient for them, since I'm good at building and repairing shit. This time, their washing machine/dryer combo is having technical issues. We've been fixing it, and it's better now, but not quite perfect.

I got exactly what I wanted for Christmas: an Xbox 360 to add to my collection. A nice Slim model too, so I shouldn't have to face any red rings. Promptly bought Rez HD because why wouldn't I want the same game 3 times. Also, Xbox Live Gold was £1 for the month, so I jumped on that. Also got an HDMI switcher from my grandad, so I can have the PS3 and the 360 plugged in without having to swap the cable between the two. It was funny, because he wrapped it up in a box of Luxury Christmas cards. Having to feign happiness at that was amusing.

Also got to see my Uncle for the first time in ages. Work keeps him busy, so I basically never see him other than family gatherings. He and his girlfriend bought me a book on game programming design patterns, which is perfect. That's gonna get used a lot, especially the section on spatial partitioning! Also got about £130, which'll go on driving lessons.

A friend of mine came over today and took me out to the local CEX to buy some cheap Xbox 360 games. My collection has increased from 2 to 16, plus some more that my dad bought me for my birthday next month, but I don't get them yet

Speaking of, my dad finally has a good chunk of time off - about 3 weeks - so we're going to actually try and get in some multiplayer, which almost never happens. We've had Worms WMD sitting in the cupboard unopened, waiting for us both to have some time, so this should be good. His time off also coincides with AGDQ starting, so that'll be both of us pretty much inseparable for the week!

Definitely not a bad Christmas this year. I usually don't feel particularly festive because we normally have money problems, but we've nicely averted that this year.

I got nothing. Family reunited for a bit, not too many people but it was fun. I wasn't expecting anything for Christmas either way, with the way things are everyone probably prefers to save the money.

Also I feel like this Christmas is by far the one that had the least commemoration overall over here out of the recent years.

EDIT: I say that and someone launches fireworks nearby. Yay.

Merry (slightly late) Christmas everybody!

I got... a fair bit of random stuff, but I didn't ask for anything so I can't be disappointed! I also started a cold Christmas Eve, thanks coworkers!
