It turns out that sgstair made raw packet capture at E3 2005; this is where those NDS Download Play tech demo dumps (Submarine Tech Demo, Table Hockey Tech Demo) came from.

I thought there may be a possibility that there is more game stuff in there than the five DS Download Play ROMs that were scene released as E3_Demos_2005_NDS_USA-iND.

I don't really know how to interpret this kind of data, so that's why I'm posting it here - for someone to take a look at.

I remember those demos.

I used to use Wifime to play them via download play. Pretty fun stuff.

Also, talk about a dead website.

I realise now that this may be useless because:
* The DLP kiosk wasn't very near any of the demo kiosks, and the demo kiosks may have used simulated wifi via wires
* Some of the data may just be from wireless communications from released DS software that people brought with them.

GBAtek documents the packet format for multiboot crap.


ROM headers can be found by searching for 24 FF AE 51, that's the start of the Nintendo logo data at 0xC0.

The DLP protocol doesn't transfer whole ROMs though -- it transfers the header, the ARM9 and ARM7 binaries, and some data header. The game is then responsible for transferring needed data files.


One could probably make a quick script to detect ROM headers.

We probably wouldn't get anything that hasn't already been leaked, though.

Okay, this peeked my interest. Would be glad if you could send me a download link to those Download Play tech demos and maybe even a tutorial on how to play that (as well as the Nintendo DS Debug ROM) on a flashcard.

You can find them all in the No-Intro DS Download Play set. Just put them onto your flashcart's SD (or whatever) memory card.
