At this stage it doesn't seem I'll be able to analyse the demo disc... my computer is fairly old and my brother isn't confident with his disc being in it in case something goes wrong. (Copies of the disc are getting fairly rare)
Oh well...
I noticed I haven't said that the demo disc I found the demo on is the Official Australian Playstation Magazine demo disc 24.
The differences I have noticed from the demo listed in the prototype article are that:
- The Monkey Radar is available from the gadget room, and it. sounds. annoying.
- There are poles in the gadget room that you can climb on and hang off. They don't seem to serve any purpose aside from decoration, but seven-year-old me spent hours just making Spike climb them and then jump off them. It's the simple things in life!
- The water net is not available from the gadget room, you do a training exercise to get it before entering the Wetlands stage. Also, Primordial Ooze is still called Wetlands.
- If you catch all the monkeys in a level you unlock Time Trial mode. I don't think there's any default time to beat... I didn't check.
Spike still uses his Japanese voice, the monkeys in the intro still have their generic voice clips, and none of the other characters have voice acting. From what I can see, this demo is pretty close to the Pizza Hut demo disc already listed on TCRF.
Hopefully I will be able to analyse the demo at some point or another, but for now I can't provide much more than this. |
