1. Get a job. Waiting for responses... I have a chance with some company. Ubisoft's letting my application rot. Haha.


2. Build an extension cord for my LED color light's controller. Mostly convenience (controlling it from bed, etc). I ordered the crap I'll need, waiting for it to arrive.


3. Something raspi related? Maybe port blargSNES to it, could be interesting.

the only other one (a certain Speedy Eggbert 2 mod started in 2010. yes) died out a "long time ago" (2014) because it was absolute garbage

Finish tilde-plays-pokémon. Get a job. Finish 2048-gb DX and release it on cartridge. Get a fursona. Make the webcomic website for my friend. Make a world clock from an Arduino and OLED display. Write down a list of projets. Decide on a bachelor's thesis. Work on the Telefang disassembly and translation. Compose some more chiptune music. Learn to play an instrument. Look into skincare. Print out a Pokémon-themed Dobble clone. Make the Game Boy Camera Pokémon Go mockup video. Write down thoughts and plans about the Czech Pokémon Red translation. Rewrite the randomizer (at last) - finish Crowdsprite too. Do more GBA music rips with agbplay. Do more chiptune visualization videos, esp. the requests that were made to me. Fix those Game Gears I took apart (practice some soldering first). Get in touch with the local furry community. Make a Doom level (but try Wolf3D first). Make a toy utility to play with chippy waveforms. Make a better chiptune visualization tool (I have plenty of ideas). Plan better, get into some habits, procrastinate less, time my work.

Only 1 active hacking project on my plate right now.

I'm trying to see if I could cause a buffer overflow in a game and rewrite how the game plays. The ultimate goal would be to create a TAS. If I could exploit an overflow to rewrite memory, I'd be easy for me to beat the game quick since I know the innards of how the game works.

The painful part is finding such an exploit.

Current projects:

1. Put the finishing touches in order to finish/release Colonial Combat (95% complete) this August, a possibly controversial, satirical fighting video game about surviving at a certain university. It will either get me noticed by VG dev employers due to the technical advances, uniqueness, and slight controversial nature of the game, or offend them and lose opportunities.

2. Continue work on Socket the Hedgeduck, a Sonic 1 hack with Socket/Time Dominator assets. Submit it to the Sonic 2016 Hacking Contest and more builds to the Sega Mega Drive & Genesis Classics Collection on Steam Workshop.

3. Resume work and finish this year the Sega Genesis homebrew port of Ultra Air Hockey. Possibly submit it to the Sega Homebrew Competition 2016 (if there will be one), and release it on physical cartridges. Recently purchased the materials and hardware needed to burn one EPROM cartridge to test out the process of making my own repro cartridges, just waiting for the materials to arrive.

4. Start a Sega Dreamcast homebrew project in 2017?

5. Resume work in 2017 on a 3D space shooter project called StarEagle, assemble a dev team consisting of myself and other colleagues.

6. Lose weight, get caught up on sleep.

7. Continue working at my two part-time blue collared jobs unrelated to my major, (barely) staying afloat and paying off my college bills, and getting burned out working 7-days a week from the schedule overlap from the 2 jobs. One job starts at 3am, and is affecting my health.

8. Stop procrastinating with the above projects and get a real, full-time job in my field, either in Video game development or Software Engineering. I have been out of the university for 8 months, and no job offers yet...

6th project: fix the kitchen sink's overflow thing.

I tried to take it apart, clean it up and put it back, but that failed, it's still leaking whenever the sink's full. The joints are crapoed, they're all hard, I'm going to just replace the damn thing.

Of course, I did some googling about softening joints. There are a bunch of crazy techniques, using weird chemicals or (I kid you not) fuel. It's nice but the heating here doesn't use fuel anyway, and I don't want stinky joints.

It'll just be easier and less expensive to buy a new thing

1: Learn more about software synthesis, and maybe incorporate what I learn into my (so far) rather simple waveform generator code.

2: Remember how to use a soldering iron again, and find somewhere safe to use it.

3: Create one or more... things that make some approximation of music. I don't think that I can fairly call my eventual abominations "synthesizers"...

4: Design and build a Vetinari studio clock with nothing but CMOS logic chips.

5: Put my life back together. Mental illness sucks...

6: Work out what the hell makes me lose interest in working on things once I've mentally "solved" them, and try to fix that somehow.

7: Get married, maybe?

same reason why I lost a lot of interest in emulation and romhacking, I guess.


anyway, project #6 is done. Project #2 is delayed until Wednesday because hurrdurr postman showing up when I'm not here and erroneously marking my parcel as refused.

Wednesday is also when I have a job interview planned, so maybe project #1 will get somewhere too? We'll see.

I don't have too many, but they're large, life consuming things.

1. Find employment related to my degree. I want to work in analytical chemistry, I got a doctorate in it for a reason.

2. Have kids! (Then raise kids!)

3. Finish my two major Advance Wars hacks (one is getting there, but I keep wanting to do things).

4. Get back into weightlifting. Like to surpass my personal best of pressing 80 kg/squatting 120 kg.

My list of things to do:

1. Finish tiling the kitchen

2. Remove ugly linoleum from bathroom, replace with better linoleum.
