| Howdy everyone. A month ago, an early prototype of Mega Man 64 was released online to minimal fanfare. I wasn't sure if the word spread far enough so I thought maybe I should make a thread for this. For those not in the know, Mega Man 64 is the Nintendo 64 port of Mega Man Legends, originally released on PlayStation. From its petroleum-smeared textures to a stuttering framerate, as well as stripped content and badly compressed sound, MM64 is a mediocre port of great game, with character, personality and technical cleverness. It's what compelled me and several other cool dudes to preserve the prototype. https://youtu.be/4MrEySDMKcc The video above exhibits, with annotations, the oddities throughout the proto and the test rooms that lurk underneath the surface of the game's code, all while poking fun of said things. It appears to be at the stage of when it was just being ported to the N64, as all reference to the PlayStation game remain in this proto. I hope you have fun watching and fun playing the proto. You can DOWNLOAD the prototype here. PixelButts began writing the page at TCRF. Special thanks to coolmod, BoboMcCloud, PixelButts, Protodude. If I missed other folks, sorry! ____________________ If you have Twitter, you have my permission to stalk me. Just tell me who you are as soon as you do. =P ![]() |
