Hey guys. I wasn't entirely sure whether to post this here or not, but I've found a lot of interesting information while digging through the various Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers prototypes that DRX dumped years ago.

There were four separate SEGA games released, two for Mega Drive and two for Game Gear, each with noticeable differences between their prototypes and their final versions.

However, seeing as I've covered all the games, I was unsure whether to post each post here individually or just post a link, so if people want me to, I can repost each post here.

While the prototypes contain a lot of fascinating changes, by far the most interesting change I came across was from Spanish ("Welcome to the Next Level") promos for the original Mega Drive game, featuring different sprites, a PR monster that never made it into the final game, and a few of the same typos and odd things that were found in the earliest DRX prototypes, showing a clear evolution from build-to-build.

Anyway, just let me know if I should go into more detail here, or whatever.

Yeah, I wasn't sure on the protocol for contributing to TCRF articles, but there is quite a lot of information in my build analyses that aren't in the existing TCRF wiki articles, so I thought I'd just test the waters. Given how much information I posted on Rangerboard, I'm a little bit burned out and don't think I'd do the articles justice, and if I did I don't think I'd be able to keep the information concise enough. It's all a bit wordy.

There's a lot of words here about editing and how to do it, but given your posting you should be perfectly competent at making a basic article. Other people can help pick up the slack if you're not sure about anything

Should I make individual articles for each Prototype build? It seems the best option, given the amount of differences between builds.

And looking back on my thread there, I realise that it's a little cluttered and formatted badly, but a lot of these findings were found out of the blue, especially the "Welcome to the Next Level"/"Bienvenido al Proximo Nivel" cut content. After having looked at my findings, I probably would be able to competently make more succinct articles.

You definitely should make individual articles for each proto build. Do make them subpages for the main proto article.

On a side note I've always wondered if there's anything interesting hidden (or visible for that matter) in prototype versions of the original SNES Power Rangers game and Power Rangers The Movie game.

The fact that Tommy has a green colored teleport effect in the final Movie game always made me wonder if at some point it was the Green Ranger in the game instead of the White (and they just forgot to change the teleport effect color). After all, the Movie game has almost no relevance to the actual movie other than the final boss, so it stands to reason that the Movie game may have originally been developed as simply a sequel game without any intended tie-in to the movie.

I'm not sure that any prototypes/pre-final versions of the SNES Power Rangers games are around though.
