A 15-megaton one...

Might have an asteroid smash into it by the end of January...if that happens you know they're gonna want to take video of it.

This also makes thread 100 for me.

EDIT: The comments are also ROFL.

*The Red Snifit finds his video camera and his telescope.
This stuff probably won't help too much, but I'll want to be somebody who sees this happen.
It's been a long time since something like this happened. :o

Another round?
It would be fun to see, if humankind had found a way to live on Mars before this meteor:

"Nah it won't hit, we calculated it perf-- OSHIT!"

But anyways, I wonder if I can see it if it happens.

Get the Mars Rover close enough to it that it doesn't explode when the bomb goes off.

This would be a really rare thing to witness. I just hope that they record the impact for those that can't see it.

It's still pretty rare for an asteroid to hit a planet, much less Mars.

I don't know why I put this here.
I heard about this from my sister, who is obsessed with the notion of the Earth being destroyed by a meteorite.

Never mind the possibility of this dimension exploding at any moment, should another dimension crash into it.

She probably got so spooked by the whole 'removable thumb' trick with two hands and the hidden floating thumb.

Seeing as how it does have a high chance of impact, I guess I should pull out a telescope and view it. However, if I do miss it, it'll at least be on the news.

Wait, what?

Some theoretical metaphysical mumbo-jumbo which is pretty much completely unlikely to occur at all even if it is possible, which pretty much looks like it isn't. Typical paranoid ramblings.

Yeah. It's mostly "If you get worried about X, then why not about Y, and why not about Z" repeat until fear of instant death by touching antimatter sets in. :p

put the odds of impact at 1 in 350
Gotta take a grain of salt when reading a story written by someone who doesn't know the difference between odds and chances.

A newly discovered hunk of space rock has a 1 in 75 chance...

Whoever wrote this seems to know the difference, and it could have been a simple mistake, but I could be wrong. :/

1.3% chances aren't that great.... it'd be kind of neat if it would, though, just to see what happens

Seems to me that it's probably a simple mistake, no need to be so nitpicky, aside, this is something I'd like to see, for the same reason as Xk really. I'm curious to see what this might cause.

Wonder if it has anything to do with some things akin to spaceship reentry. Too shallow you skip off and too steep you incinerate in the atmosphere.

I mean it's a much bigger object than a space shuttle but it applies as well to smaller asteroids burning up in the atmosphere before impact (hence shooting stars).
