Hi, can anyone please look up what's inside the beta roms of Conker? There was 4 beta roms leaked for download somewhere I heard of and I would like someone to start digging what's hidden inside those beta roms of Conker Bad Fur Day.

I got really curious when I heard about it. I wish I could find out for myself but I don't really have the right computer and not enough time to do it for myself. I just hope someone around here can help me with searching stuff from those roms recently leaked.

I am looking for 12 Tales 64 content because I loved this version of Conker and always wanted to see if I could actually make a Conker game for myself to play on my mac computer someday once I gather enough resources in hand.

I was a windows user since 98 but after years of losing windows pc's due to viruses and crashes, I had to move on with something else new I never tried yet and that's why I had to buy my first mac. I just hope it will last long enough for me to make something because sadly, I never got to accomplish any of my own works in my life because of all of these stupid, pointless, crazy situations with my computers.

I don't think all of that stuff found on cutting room floor may not be all of the 12 tales stuff so far and I believe that the other 4 leaked betas could have much more 12 Tales content to be found which are not yet discovered! One of the beta roms was said to be from an early ECTS demo which has already been data mined last time before.

There are however, a few things I saw unused which never got put up on the site yet and I would like to point them out if anyone whoever worked at the Cutting Room Floor site may not know!

I would like to first start off with the ECTS demo, this stuff is used but not in the final and thanks to Conkerguru's screenshots of these when I visited his site but never did actually posted the unused content there. The content found in the demo are actually some more 12 Tales stuff! The crow might be the same model re-used from the 12 Tales demo I believe and the roof top of the windmill looks like the same kind of yellow roof texture used from one of the houses in 12 Tales which later got replaced by a different texture in the released version.

There is one sound from the released version never got put up on cutting room floor site. This sound can be heard from game shark code and it's just one of those background sounds which was called dinosaurs/bird sound file.

As for the stuff I am looking for my game, I download the sound effects from cutting room floor site which are the unused bird, bee, camera 1 and 2, and frog. Unfortunately, the sound files are the wrong format! I cannot use ogg files and I only accept using wav and mp3 sound files. I tried to convert them to wav and mp3 but none of these work and I don't get any sounds playing after converting! Does it have something to do with converting ogg or is there something wrong with the file?

I would be surprised if any unused songs from 12 tales somehow end up on one of the beta roms!

As a side note, I know this has already been discovered and ripped before that was already been on Cutting Room but don't anyone get the idea that the butter fly net model might be an item left out from 12 Tales and not from bad fur day? The colors, textures, and design reminded me of his old slingshot and the kite used in 12 tales.

There are only two prototypes, and I believe all that's leftover from Twelve Tales are some textures.

Then what is this?

Screen Shot 2015 11 04 at 7 56 13 PM
Click on picture to see it

I found this article on iso.com and according to the guy who found this had 4 Conker roms leaked and this is a screenshot of the site where I know this.

Would you tell me if this is really true about four different Conker roms? I am not sure about the debug ones if those are beta too but anyway, I would be very happy if you could correct me on this and I still don't believe if everything has been data mined so far. I still think there might be more hidden stuff we missed inside the game including the beta roms.

I guess cutting room floor considered the roof textures used because it was shown on Conkerguru's site but I still think it should be worth showing the texture itself only and maybe a model of the crow for those who wanted to find out if this could be the same crow from 12 tales or not. I would also like to find out if the textures on that crow is the same one from 12 tales or the same ones seen from the released bad fur day rom.

The crows seen from the 30 minute video footage has no textures like the ones shown on cutting room floor article because the 12 tales crow shown apparently just had solid colors with no eyes, detailed beak, or the wings textured at all.

Conkerguru's screenshot is also blurry so a closer look at the model ripped somehow would be much better to see if that's possible though! I would also like to observe this odd looking yellow roof texture of the old windmill from the ECTS version if someone could rip it for us to see maybe on the cutting room article for comparison with the roofs shown in 12 tales.

There is only one sound effect never been shown on the article and also two models were only found by conkerguru of an unused crate from 12 tales and a red barrel with warning signs had a missing bottom because the model seems not finished according to conkerguru.

Let me know if there is anything you can do to help make this thread post useful please and thanks!

Two of those ROMs are the original, untouched versions. The other two are decrypted versions of those original ROMs. The untouched ROMs require an auxiliary dongle with extra data to allow them to boot on a console. The decrypted versions bypass this check and allow the ROMs to run on consoles and emulators.

Thank you very much for helping me understand this. More 12 tales stuff are always nice to find. There is something I would like to say here not many fans would know this.

I was at twitter, and well I don't know if you are going to believe this or not especially Rareware has always been known for being notorious with keeping secrets of their projects and past stuff until something gets released. Now according to Robin Beanland, the composer for Bad Fur Day music said that an old enemy character from Conker's previous game Pocket Tales named Honker was actually planned to appear on the prototype Bad Fur Day 12 Tales!! Now there was a song recently revealed by Rare Replay of one of the songs from 12 Tales never been heard from early footage called Frantic Flight was said to be the song used for Honker and that his name was also going to be called Stinky in the original which in my guess could be his name when 12 Tales was still in the works before Pocket Tales release? Anyways true or false, I thanked Robin for the info now I feel like it's confirmed fact that maybe the yellow red eye found by Conkerguru may have been the eyes used earlier for Honker or an unused expression for Conker's face but who knows.

So far, no new textures found in the debug version and only cheat codes added. ECTS had the most stuff found which are not present in the released version. The only problem is the debug version was near complete before the release version and the oldest as we can only get is the ECTS version.

Pocket Tales came out two years before BFD, and from what I remember from Rare's recent vid of Twelve Tales, TT was on hiatus for a while before they picked it back up and redesigned it, so who knows, sounds plausible to me. Source would be nice though.

On a recent twitter reply from Robin Beanland, I just found out now a song Rare Replay had as secret soundtrack called Frantic Flight or maybe it was Frantic Fight is NOT the song for Honker the Skunk, he was planned and going to be a boss for 12 Tales during the time his name was Stinky. The song was beta music for KO the cat boss so possibly this song may not be used if 12 Tales had come out.

I also find it odd enough that the song Frantic Flight sounds too much for N64 music! I mean the instruments don't sound anything like a song would be digitally made on N64. However, I heard some game companies can change or modify their own sounds and music for their own purposes on making unique games from such unique resources instead of using the already built in stuff made for N64 only hardware as far as chip game music works back in those old days.

And here are my sources, including my twitter messages with the guy.

I am unable to share youtube link to the unused song but you can always hear it on youtube video
and the song was also available to play and listen on Rare Replay but you have to unlock this song first along with other 12 tales music before listening to them.

He was really nice and we had quite a good conversation. What's interesting to know is where would Honker be on 12 Tales if he does exist right? Evil Acorn was replaced by evil wizard Hoodlums seen from the beginning of the 30 minute video for sure before he too got replaced by Panther King when 12 Tales changed to Bad Fur Day.
