I'm having difficulties getting this game running in Project64 2.2. Every time I try to run the game, it freaks out and quits without warning.

Anyhow, does anyone know the symbols table for this game (not just for the dialogue visible in the ROM with plain ASCII)? That could help greatly when trying to play the game.

I can't say anything for any version of PJ64 after 1.7 since I refuse to use them after the whole malware debacle, but emulation for Pokémon Snap has always been awful so it wouldn't surprise me if it's just outright broken rather than a misplaced setting (though the default settings for most games have always been kind of hit or miss).

If your only concern is getting the game running and not on any potential extra features that the newer versions may have, I know for a fact that it works in 1.6 and 1.7 (1.7 does have a memory search/view feature). The photo display is partially broken (some emulators don't let you select them at all) and the viewfinder targeting is broken (Dugtrio for example is impossible to get a picture of) but otherwise it seems to work. Chances are you'd probably get about the same emulation quality level with the earlier versions (perhaps even better because haw haw PJ64), so it wouldn't be a huge loss in that regard.

I did some searching for relative values that would equate to "PIKACHU" and got nothing beyond the ASCII text. I even tried other Pokemon names and had no luck. Wherever the names are, the list is compressed.
