I was thinking we could just make new subpage templates using the existing code, but modified to point to the appropriate namespace instead of a subpage. This would mean we'd have to add the template to every article that has a prototype/prerelease/notes/bugs page, but we've had to undertake far bigger tasks before.

One nice side effect of using subpage-like templates is that we could create mainspace articles for prototypes of released games that don't already have one, and they wouldn't be just an empty shell with a bob.

To be honest I think prototypes should get their own BOB templates (maybe a little different since, you know, they aren't the exact same thing). Prototype pages as it is are really barren.

Wasn't OoT 3D based off the original code, though? (I mean, by that point they were using C already so working off that wouldn't be as unfeasible as it'd seem, even if they'd have to change a lot of stuff to accomodate for the new platform) The new Sonic 2 port was definitely made from scratch though, except for ripping the old assets I suppose.

I wonder where the Sonic Jam ports fall under, though? If I recall correctly, they took the original code and used a converter to turn it into C, because even the obscure glitches are still there (I recall somebody trying the megaglitch in S3K and it working... to more disastrous effects, since it completely nuked the system's entire back-up memory as well - ouch).

That would have been way too slow on the Saturn though, not to mention that they modified the games to add the difficulty modes (although I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of "pseudo-emulation" layer for stuff like the graphics). The fact the same tricky obscure glitches happen shows that they were based off the original code, however.
