Hello everyone, I have found evidence of additional sound files for areas not used in the Type-A demo of Raw Danger (1-1-5.BD(/HD/SQ), 1-1-5-FOOT.BD, 1-1-5P0.BD, 1-1-5P1.BD, 1-1-5P2.BD, 2-0-0.BD, 2-0-0-FOOT.BD, 2-1-0.BD, 2-1-0-FOOT.BD, etc., etc., etc.). These files are in BD/HD/SQ format, and from what I have read apparently these need to be converted into PSF2 format using the files themselves along with .IRX modules from the game. I have a tool from Neill Corlett to convert to PSF2, however it outputs corrupt files. The tool itself wants the IRX modules LIBSD.IRX, MODHSYN.IRX, and MODMINI.IRX, however Raw Danger may have additional .IRX modules it uses for sound such as IREMSND2.IRX, MODSEIN.IRX (these sounds are stored in a folder labeled "SE"), and MODSESQ2.IRX.

I was wondering if anyone here had any knowledge of constructing PSF2 files and could help me out or give me advice. I've attached the SE folder, along with the IRX modules and the tool I am using (VGMToolbox r934, containing Neill Corlett's tool under Misc. > xSF > PSF2 > mkpsf2 Front End) for reference.

Thanks.

I decided to look at the files myself. Going through the bd files with PSound told me that none of these are really for music so converting to psf2 won't work. Mostly just ambience, background sfx, some voices, and footsteps.

I had figured that these weren't for music and the like, as these sounds are already in a different format (which I was able to convert to wav with vgmstream). Do you have a way to listen to these files? There are also files in the final game for unused areas, so it'd be good to document nonetheless.

I used PSound to play the audio files in it. You can find it at zophar. It's not perfect since it sometimes doesn't detect all the sony adpcm files in an archive, but it's decent enough.

If you have either foobar or winamp with a vgmstream plugin, you can just use vgmtoolbox to convert the bd files to genh(just adds header) using one of the sony adpcm options and use either winamp or foobar to convert to wav. You'll have to seperate everything manually with that method, however.

Thanks, this works just great for me. I found that there are some leftovers from the first game (although only in the US version), along with a few unused sounds here and there. There's a particularly odd soundbyte near the beginning of the game, and I'm trying to figure that one out.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
