(I recommend playing this on console. If you must use an emulator, change the byte values of the addresses 2191FF40, 21A59380, 21BEFB40 to 0 to disable broken postprocessing filters. The video playthrough also does this, so it's not true to what it looks like on console. If anyone has a capture card and a modded PS2, lemme know.)

Video Playthrough

This is the first of two demos for the game Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2, which came out March 30, 2006 for the PlayStation 2 in Japan (later localized for European (505 Games) audiences on June 8, 2007 and for US audiences (Agetec) on June 19, 2007), known as the "Type-A" demo, circa 2004. While I believed that it would cover two of the six protagonists of Raw Danger!, it only covers Shinohara (Joshua), the first protagonist, while also revealing the second protagonist. The demo also teases a mystery protagonist, who may be unused (it appears to be a type of waiter from the picture, while Joshua is the only waiter protagonist - http://i.imgur.com/wrOvQ7P.png - heck, it looks like Joshua standing next to a heater).

The demo plays up until the roof collapses while Joshua and Stephanie are escaping the banquet hall. Some other things to note is that Amber Brazil (I am not sure of her Japanese name) is wearing an unused jacket, her boots are different, and her inner wear is definitely unused (http://tcrf.net/File:IremRD-Item0618.png). Along with this, there are many voice lines in the demo that are not included in the demo, and you can find some of these lines translated in the English version of the game. Curiously, there don't seem to be any unused lines included past this demo area (maybe Irem had the game finished and was holding out, who knows what they're doing?).

I have a video playthrough of this demo that I have linked above, and I have included some changes that each of the videos have from the final game. One last thing I should note is that the inventory menu is different from the finished game, but yet still different than some prototype designs that I found in the finished games (http://imgur.com/a/CgwT2).

Changes listed in each of the video descriptions:

Part 1:

Some changes in this part from the final game:

*Title menu/character select is different.
*The tutorial guide is less detailed, and looks more like a "typical" NPC
*Everyone in the room at the start of the banquet hall cutscene is a sprite.
*The mayor has an extra line in his speech, there line is also unused, in English, in the English version.
*Joshua leaving the mayor's speech...
*The layout of the banquet hall is different, obviously.
*Item menu is completely different, TP/wetness doesn't show up anywhere on your HUD.
*You can't give items to people.
*You run automatically, and hold X to walk.
*Chef's phone is in a different location...

Other than that I think I mostly goofed around. What's that "?" icon on the item menu? Such mystery.

Part 2:

Some changes in this part from the final game:

*Unused cutscene and theme music for Stephanie in the beginning of the video.
*A lot of NPCs are calling our protagonist "Shinohara-kun," where I swear they don't voice your name at all in any of the finals.
*The Mayor's assistant knocks over some stuff and gets Stephanie dirty, I swear that he just ruins everything (she goes into the female locker room to change, not get ready to go home)
*More unused cutscenes with Stephanie when carrying water.

Mayor Goldstein is going to get his water soon enough.

Part 3:

Some changes in this part from the final game:

*Someone gained access to an intercom system and started annoying us after I delivered water to Mayor Goldstein. I accidentally cut a bit of her off, because I'm really bad at demonstrating things.
*Unused cutscene with Mayor Goldstein.
*The banquet hall is closed for a bit, in order to trap everyone inside I guess.
*You can walk up to the edge of the hall, where there's a custom camera angle (I think I did this earlier?), this part is blocked off in the final game but the camera angle still exists.
*Unused cutscene with the head waiter, who is carrying a briefcase containing "we'll never know."
*Also, doorway to the backstage hallway is open, instead of having to go through a loading transition. Wouldn't that be neat?
*Survival points warm you REALLY fast, and dry your clothing.
*There is no hole in the bathroom wall to crawl through.
*The first hole to the kitchen doesn't exist.
*The shutters close much faster than in the final when approaching the head waiter.
*There are glass (?) shards in the hole that allows you to get into the kitchen, and you have to use a mop from the bathroom (??) to clean it up before you can get inside.
*Banquet hall front door is open, while it is never open in the final game.

Water has also sucked all color from one side of the banquet hall!

Part 4:

Some changes in this part from the final game:

*Some rogue water comes and attacks us from the bathroom area while traveling to the head waiter.
*Different "blurry vision" effects. Also, TP drains MUCH faster than in the final game. You die 4 seconds after your screen starts shaking!
*Stepladder is in the men's locker room.
*Stephanie and Joshua have a different cutscene with the mobile phone, Stephanie is an entitled brat (man oh man was this a surprise seeing that the first time).
*First aid model is different, more like the one in Disaster Report.

You also get a complimentary food cart that you can move back in forth.

Part 5:

Some changes in this part from the final game:

*The entranceway to the banquet hall doesn't collapse, and that cutscene is somewhat different.
*There is rope hanging where duct tape would normally be.
*Garbage bags have 10 (!) uses, probably because they seem like they were originally intended to keep items dry.

Some notes:
*| cheat near the end to get past the ending (to this demo) cutscene, and show that there are a few things past that trigger like a camera angle. Unfortunately, that cutscene is a trigger for the next part of the game. Double unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's even any additional data to load on disk.
*I then cheat during the cutscene to place Joshua in the water, because I have the power to do so. The latter half of that cutscene is very similar to the final product, anyway. It's interesting that water just seems to be passively rising during the cutscene (also that Joshua swims in it).

Finally, I seem to be having some trouble dumping the contents of this disk. I had used Xpert to extract the big .FAT/.DAT files Raw Danger! had, and, while the demos have the same sort of files, I seem to be unable to extract them. I can probably use TextER to extract textures (although that didn't get *all* of the textures for the finished games when just used on the .dat), although that won't extract things such as sounds, models, and animations (obviously). If anyone knows anything, I would appreciate the help.

EDIT: Assorted pictures of unused items in the demo (download). Most interesting items are 76 (not sure who it is in the photo), 35 (early model of the crowbar), 802 (C battery), and 810 (B battery) (only D battery is in final).

EDIT: Additional character select images. The silhouette shown in game is likely to be Isaac, then Ivan in this link, then Paige. Why they took pictures of Joshua and blurred them out is confusing to me. Additionally, I found these "prototype item menus" that I mentioned before in the Type-A textures.

Update:

There is more to the demo after the trigger which sends you back to the main menu, I've included it here: LINK

(including invisible people, missing animations, and softlocks).

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
