Well, it was a massive pile of shit when it first came out, to be quite frank. It was so incredibly broken it was stupid. I thought it had been made by EA or something. It was that bad. Ran like shit, had tons of graphical glitches, campaign glitches. Glitch glitches. Took a number of patches to fix. Sorry, wanted to talk some shit on it as it had me extremely frustrated early on as I'm someone who purchased it when it came out (regrettably).


That being said, with all of the fixing they've finally done (i.e. put it where it should've been in the first place) it's pretty sweet. I don't have much experience with the series. I've only played a wee bit of Shogun 2 (which I own) and some medieval, but I like it. It's undeniably more attractive, and the campaign is fun. Since I'm not too up on these kind of games, I don't know if there's anything in particular you'd like me to tell you about, but I'd recommend it these days. They've also come out with some DLC, like Hannibal at the Gates and a Caesar campaign for example (which I haven't purchased as I don't play it very often. If you're the torrenting type of person, I'd download it to try it and buy it after if you like it.

Okay, I confess. I never really played through Skyrim when I got it. Didn't find it as enthralling as Oblivion and Morrowind were. So now I'm replaying it again with a few useful mods (like SkyUI -- thank Talos for SkyUI -- and a blade-mage animation replacement Stigandr found for me) and I must admit I am enjoying it.

The game's janky physics engine letting me fireball dragon corpses off cliffs is amazing.

Got my accounts linked up and now I've returned to Star Trek: Online! I forgot how good of a game it actually was. It recently(?) switched ownership or something and, if you already have an existing STO account, you have to sign up for an Arc account (another gaming platform like Steam) and then send a support ticket with a bunch of information to get your Cryptic account connected to play as your old characters, but it's really quite a painless process.

Been training on the Unreal Tournament series to prepare for testing the content for the next Unreal Tournament when it goes open. While I also tried some community-made maps such as remakes for UT3. I did run a stream on Twitch via OBS in 48FPS to see the quality test, since there are some minor picture degredation at 60fps even at 3500Kbps.

I've just completed a strange and interesting game called E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy.

It's an unpolished, incomprehensible, bizarre mess that somehow creates a genuinely enjoyable and intriguing experience. This article explains it pretty well. The game is also only $1 for the next couple of days, if anybody is interested.

The steam sale made me finally pull the trigger on XCOM: Enemy Within, which I started play XCOM: Enemy Unknown around its release or so, but never really dove into it. Which to be honest, I stopped playing because I didn't understand the game yet and was getting slaughtered.

I've actually given it a fair shake this time (on Easy, just to learn the game) and it's a blast.

oh my gosh you guys the lead programmer for Lode Runner: The Legend Returns and Lode Runner Online: Mad Monks Revenge released it as freeware when Sierra went poof and I have been playing Mad Monks Revenge for like three hours now

I've been playing random games lately, Ace Combat Infinity every day after work, and most recently the PC port of Final Fantasy 3.

As the article I wrote indicates, I do not recommend it.

Ace Combat Infinity is fun though. I like flying a Su-24MP and outscoring Raptors in it. It's not a game I have the patience for most of the time, though, between server cockups and the somewhat limited map selection. They are working on more content for it at least, and it's not pay-to-win (except the tournaments, but nothing exists yet that outperforms the free planes)

(Edit: Guys, we're not trying to take over, honest.)

Did it eventually. Only took 13 years. Perfect campaign.

I'm happy. Been meaning to do one for so long, but the Final Battle is an absolute pain to score that 999 points on, everything else is...manageable (except that one Drake mission).

Now to do an S-Rank Advance Campaign on my Wii U copy.
