Okay so I was going to play kirby on the gba to test out an emulator when this popped up on boot up. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBXmMadaYmc Is this some kind of anti-piracy message? The message mentions the date November 22nd 2002 but the game wasn't even out till a month later. Thought this would be worth mentioning as I can't find anything else about this even on the cutting room floor page for the game.

It's most likely the build date for the final game. Would make sense to appear before the release date, as the final ROM had to be copied on the game chips that are then encased in a cart to go into a box before it could be released.

But wow, a one month turnaround? Not sure if that was normal or not (probably was)

That's a cracktro at the beginning, added by groups who dumped the game and amended it as a sort of way of saying "Hey guys, we copied this game without anybody's permission and are leaking it all throughout the Internet". Note that it has something saying "Game Supplied by", which would mean someone got the game binary before release and gave it to a group of pirates. Mode7 was one fairly notable group who added such things. I can assure you this is 100% not in a regular copy of the game. Needless to say, that's not an anti-piracy message at all.
