Good, the USB drive broke down in a wierd way.

Basically, it works only with OSes >Windows Vista. The problem is, I mostly use it for school, where there are only XP computers...

You can guess where this is going.

Oh no, it just says the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable... while on Windows 7 computers it works flawlessly.

I don't even know how did this happen, as the only thing I can imagine is when I had to forcibly eject the USB stick before the AV could delete this program.

Sounds like regular ol' corruption. Reformat it and see if that fixes it. If not, boot into Linux (you have lots of VMs right?) and reformat it there.

In Linux (which ironically, is on that USB stick) not only does recognize it, but it can copy files at a much greater speed than Windows.

Anyway, I should probably consider reformatting, although since I have Windows 7 on my two main PCs, well...

So the Visa Debit card I've been using to access my current account for the past 5 or so years is apparently not a Visa Debit card. It suddenly underwent metamorphosis and changed into an Electron card.

Time to trek in to the awful city centre to find my local branch and get this shit fixed.

Well, fixed it. Turns out, they cancelled that card and didn't bother to tell me about it.

The reasoning behind that is the banks are switching to contact-less cards, so we can dry-hump a machine with our wallets in our pockets and pay for things. I got mine a month ago, but rang up to ask if I could just continue using my regular card until it expires in 2016. They said I could, but apparently no. No, I cannot.

I now have to go find every online service I use and change my card details.

So, for something different it seems HBCD supports NTFS partition.

Considering the disadvantages of FAT32 and data corruption, I guess I'll format the USB stick with NTFS and then somehow install HBCD.

Sure, it's not like that USB stick is slow.

Watching Futurama on Netflix. There is only supposed to be 7 seasons, with the final season split in half. Netflix has 10 seasons. The first episode of season 9 is the first episode of season 7, but has an aspect ratio of 4:3. So where has Netflix pulled 2 extra seasons from, and why is the first episode of S7 in 4:3?

I think I remember this being pretty messy; the movies they released were split into episodes and made into their own seasons by some people, IIRC. They also probably split a season in two, or something. I love Futurama!

Wanting to write a Metroid engine. Stuck on figuring out how to handle Event flags (e.g., Bosses defeated, doors unlocked, items acquired, other events). It'd be so simple to just shove the flags into a global class, but that's just not even close to good.

Trying to improve my post layout yesterday took a while. Working with gradients, even with automated tools is still tedious. Most of the time was lost in making the blockquote both good and making the text actually readable.

The handling of the custom topbar was slightly simpler, just moving it on the table and add rounded corners.

Still, that took me way too much time. I'll have to improve it the next time I'm doing this kind of stuff.

Something else I had considered too. I'm just not quite sure if it's the best solution. Though, it would certainly work while looking for a better solution. But hey, that's way in the future.
