Link seems to have no shield and the key is in a location that is not used in the final version.

There was a very interesting picture also:



"POWER TRIANGLE" instead of "TRIFORCE". The name "Triforce" should not even exist at the time. It seems that the Magic Wand is a different color ...

Nothing too exciting but I found this unused string of text in the Japanese version of the first Zelda game.

I just replaced the English string in order to get it displayed.

I don't know Japanese at all but if I would make a guess it probably says basically the same thing which is seen on the sign Link is holding, "Please see the manual for more details." Am I right? If so I guess they simply replaced it with Link holding the sign graphic instead. The string of text appear right after the English Triforce in the intro. It's there in both versions of the FDS game and still there in the Famicom re-release on cartridge. Maybe someone with more know how than me can figure out its intended original placement on the screen and add it to the wiki if it is of any interest.
