This was something that I had discovered in one of the old faqs over at GameFAQs and I wanted to try this out for myself. This is how it works: You must have a file that has all of the levels unlocked, including the bonus ones. Then enter the passcode LEC&FIVE then go to the aforementioned file. (Normally, this code was suppose to simply unlock all of the levels up to Courscant Encounter.) If you press right while highlighting The Dark Side, the game will actually scroll over to new levels which use the same preview images as Courscant Encounter and The Dark Side. I stopped after scrolling only once as I've read that the game gets glitchy at this point but I know for sure these are actually placeholder missions, one of them simply being called "RECRUIT" with the briefing text "Click to add craft description".

EDIT: Okay, so I went back and here is a list of the scrapped levels:

"RECRUIT"
Press for craft description

"ROGUE"
Press Spacebar for craft description or ESC to cancel

"VETERAN"
Press for level description

"ACE"
Press Spacebar for level description or ESC to cancel

This was literally as far as I could go. When I scrolled over to the next level, the briefing text was suddenly in the same size as the mission titles and then a few seconds later, the game crashed. I'm pretty sure actually selecting them would have done worse. I don't know what happened during development that would cause the cheat code to actually unlock debugging leftovers like this but this was quite a major oversight.
------------------------------------

There seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding. No, the names of these missions are not difficulty levels. None of the Star Wars flight games made by Factor 5 have such a thing. At best, the nature of these titles can be treated as ranks and the name "ROGUE" is an obvious holdover from Rogue Squadron, the first of these games.

They sound like difficulty levels not missions.

You obviously didn't have the same N64 controller as the rest of us.

Those look like some pretty classic index overflows. Likely the difficulty strings are stored right after the level names (by index), and the same for the craft/level description texts.

There is no option to select difficulties in this game. There's a passcode to make the game harder, but that's it. At most, these names can easily be treated as the ranks you obtain depending on what medals you got and these were leftovers from Rogue Squadron.

If it were dummied out, they would have made a passcode to tone down the difficulty as well. Again, these titles are what you'd expect to see as your current rank such as Cadet, Trainee, Ensign, Lieutenant, etc.

The alt attribute should be used to give a short description
of an image; longer descriptions should be given with the
longdesc attribute which takes a URL linked to the description.
These measures are needed for people using non-graphical browsers.

For further advice on how to make your pages accessible
see http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL.
You are recommended to use CSS to specify the font and
properties such as its size and color. This will reduce
the size of HTML files and make them easier to maintain
compared with using <FONT> elements.

You are recommended to use CSS to control line wrapping.
Use "white-space: nowrap" to inhibit wrapping in place
of inserting <NOBR>...</NOBR> into the markup.
