| Hello, This is my first post. It's regarding the now freeware game "AREA-51" by Midway Austin that I suspect may have a bit of unused content in it. It was released in 2005 and became freeware when midway went bankrupt. I would open up the files to find something but I can't figure out the format. They have the extension ".000" and may be proprietary. Nothing I've tried can open them and they are always accompanied by a DFS file with the exception of resource.000 which is in the same directory as the EXE. I'm not sure what engine it runs on. I believe it's either a modified halo CE engine or a version of Unreal Engine. Running strings on the EXE reveals what seems to be some sort of editor that may be in there but I can't figure out how to enable it if it is. There also appears to be a debug mode which I can't activate either. If anyone can help me enable anything or open the files, Help would be appreciated. The game can be found here: http://www.fileplanet.com/216672/210000/fileinfo/Area-51-(Free-Game) and the patch for it to run properly can be found here: http://www.gamershell.com/download_11521.shtml Thanks! |
