| Hey, everyone! I don't know how a PS2 works, but I do know know that you can view the files of a game on a computer. About half a year ago, I thought 'Cool! I can get the opening cutscene of Kingdom Hearts 1!' I then proceeded to put the disc in my computer and there were only 12 files, totaling to 4.14MB. I thought this was suspicious, and looked it up online. Turns out the filesystem is hidden. I got PCSX2, and started playing around with the settings. In the console, I found that you can see the CD/DVD read commands. After logging the console, I found the cutscene starts at CdRead: Reading Sector 729902(11 Blocks of Size 2048) at Speed=24xand ends at CdRead: Reading Sector 867184(3 Blocks of Size 2048) at Speed=24xI got a DVD ripper and ripped the sectors 729902-867187, and now I have a 268MB file on my desktop taking up space. Anyways, thanks to this thread, I got a glorious idea to follow the CD/DVD reads on startup, and follow what the PS2/game is accessing on the disc and try to see if I (or anyone who wants to help) can understand how to uncover the hidden filesystem. Thank you for your time, Cube. |
