| I just did a Wonder Trade with Steven in Texas, and his public message was "YOU LIARS!!!" What do you suppose he was so worked up about? The best I can figure is that he busted his butt getting something to trade to someone advertising Pokérus, then once he got it found that the Pokérus was nowhere to be found. Other than that, I got nothin'. |

I've been experimenting with the Battle Spot feature, fighting random strangers with level 50 Pokémon. There was one valuable experience I came away with, and it involves trading away my level 100 Drifblim (which knows Minimize, a move that quote-unquote "buffs" quote-unquote "evasiveness") on Wonder Trade for a level 15 Ledyba. I bet the poor sucker on the other end thought he got the better part of the trade. I also noticed a distinct lack of Pikachu. No one uses Pikachu online because:  It is not legendary. It does not Mega-Evolve. It is not Aegislash. It cannot learn Earthquake. It is not Steel-, Ghost- or Fairy-type. Doing so would be different. Doing so would require imagination. Doing so would require skill.I grow weary of the Battle Spot. If I wanted to fight the exact same opponents over and over, I'd stick with Restaurant LeWow, where at least I get some kind of reward when I win. We need to establish a battle ring of sorts where people play for fun instead of... instead of... heck, I have no idea why people are using legendaries and mega-evolvers in Free Battle (which is not rated). EDIT: Oh yeah, I did play against this one guy who had a Togekiss, which is what tipped me off that Togepi would be available on the GTS. |

| Well, I threw a Pikachu at 2Tie. Spent most of the morning getting it ready: it's a trick-chu I set up for catching people off-guard, and while it took out a Rampardos, Lucario smooshed it. We then traded several mons because why not. You didn't want any of these back, did you? 'Cause I can do that. |

| as soon as I was paralyzed, attracted, and confused, I realized that was a pretty good setup, good match :3 Sorry I had to use my Xerneas, I wasn't that prepared for a battle, was trying to powerlevel my Rampardos for Head Crash ^.^; The ones I wanted back I did get back, and other than the trade-evolutionary ones I can get more of them from the Safari. | Well, 1/6th of my new doubles team is finished. That took longer than expected :| Still, at least breeding for decent pokemon is finally not ridiculously out of the question...just grindy.  It'd probably be easier if I had some better dittos to start the process and enough BP to actually get the Power X items. |

| The Power * items just boost EVs on enemy defeat. It's waAAaaAaAaAaaay faster to just use Super Training if you want particular EVs. |

| The power items also ensure a specific IV is passed down from Parent to Child. Breed a Pokemon with a parent holding the Power Weight? The child will always inherit the parent's HP IV. (And no, the fastest way to EV train is to use Hordes + Power Item + Pokerus. You can get up to 60 EVs per horde) |

So I decided to try Battle Spot again, just for giggles, and I finally found someone battling online with a Pikachu in his team!.. except the three that he chose to battle with were Lucario, Yveltal and Delphox. No, it's still the same-ol'-same-ol', so Nintendo's provided online battle service is still lost to the glossy-eyed, drool-mouthed of the populous. On the bright side, I did get to wreak some havoc with my Pikachu, which was delightful as ever because the enemy couldn't fight back. Serebii's Horde List is pretty handy for this. As a rule of thumb, these are the easiest hordes I've found to train for particular stats so far: HP: Gulpin Horde (1 EV) and Attack: Weepinbell (2 EV). They both appear really consistently with Sweet Scent. The only real downer with this method is that I discovered that Sweet Scent and Honey don't work on routes where it's currently raining.

| Have you guys found many shinies in X/Y? The first shiny I've found in any of the games was a shiny Sigilyph from the route where you find a mix of those and Hawlucha. It was definitely a surprise! Naturally the first thing it did was try and use Whirlwind...but it failed, so I ended up catching it anyway. It's been a permanent fixture of my team ever since. |

| I think I put mine up on the GTS for a Shuckle. I've been trying to breed a shiny Spinarak for a while; I even imported an exotic studmuffin to boost morale, but still no luck. |
