There seems to be at least one regional difference between the Japanese version and all other European versions.
The Quintet Developers Room has a quiz with a Magirock as the reward, but this quiz is only normally available in the Japanese version.
Its text was completely removed from the English versions (Europe and Australia). Somehow the French and other two European language versions DO have the text, fully translated no less like in Landstalker (albeit with incorrect formatting) and someone has even managed to load the event by hacking memory to change the loaded event.

(asking about Actraiser's preference to fruits, and Luigi's knee hair)
Someone here (http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/588784-terranigma/52268946) has found some unused text in the English script dump:
"Choose what you want to see.
Dev. Rm Mole
Chicken Eating
Oh. I see. You don't want to. I see.
Choose what you want to see.
Sqrl Vil NY Town
Sqrl C NY City
Oh. I see. You don't want to. I see."
These occur on the Quintet text block as multiple choice.

@crediar: I'd appreciate if you re-uploaded your decompression tool since it's no longer up. I'd like to translate this game, and I'm interested in altering the title screen and some graphical text but I'm stumbled because of my lack of ASM knowledge (for now).
About Datacrystal, its article for this game mentions some values for the accents in the (E) version text table. Those accent values are actually for the German version, since the English one has no accents. |
