As some of you may know, I've been writing for a while. There's even a rough copy of my book floating around Jul/Acmlm's. Of course, that's not the final copy and the story has been changed since then.

I don't want to type out a long origin story, but bottom line, I've been contacted by a publisher and they want to publish the first book in the Phoenix Element series! I haven't signed the contract just yet, but I am close in doing so.

Before I was contacted, I commissioned someone to work on the cover, just in case I went the self publishing route, like I did with a book a poems that I put out on Amazon (Donkey and Dragons). He finished up the cover art this weekend and it can been seen here.

I'm super excited and nervous about this whole publishing deal. The contract is for two years so I have two years to sell the hell out of it.

I don't know you and I know little about the challenges of writing a book and getting it published, but I do know that it's difficult to do, and that's reason enough for congratulations! That's a super exciting achievement and I hope everything turns out well. What all needs to be done as far as marketing and stuff? Is the publisher in charge of getting it out there in stores for people to buy? Forgive my ignorance, haha.

Anyway, you'll have to let us know how it goes and how/where to buy it when the time comes! Congrats again!

Thanks guys.

I've decided to go ahead and sign the contract! I'm currently editing the book right now, moving around and changing things along the way. Sucks that I still have to work at my "day job" or I might be able to be done sooner.

My book has a release date, December 5th! Oh deadlines, what fun! I'm super excited and scared at the same time.

I'm running a kickstarter for my book. Trying to raise funds to buy the book in bulk so I can promote it better. Not sure if I'm going to make that goal, but at least I tried.
