I also wonder if it's a good idea to have a page about Minecraft, given it's still in development. Most of the unused content either becomes used at some point or is just deleted from the game...

Since the Xbox version works with updates the stuff that was replaced is still there. A good example is the old icon for redstone. Also some of the stuff in the updates that aren't being used yet are usually going to be used later.

So you know, there were no rules broken here. What Hiccup meant was that it was against the rules in the sense that it can't be added to the wiki. The message was fine, in fact it was good that you asked. Better to ask and make sure it's OK to add than not do so.

It's not so bad if we could keep an archive of the "unused stuff" used in later versions, like the sponge. If I remember it still doesn't technically exist outside of Creative despite being there for a long time.

I swear I found sponge in a version of alpha, it was midway before Beta. I found it deep in the ocean. I drowned with it though.
