On somewhat short notice, but the latest video of GameTrailer's show "Pop Fiction" it was mentioned that Pop Fiction would be present at this year's FanimeCon, May 25th at 6:00pm, in San Jose, California.

I mention this because Pop Fiction has investigated not only interesting easter eggs or cameos in videogames, but also unused assets or oddities that TCRF also deals with (the show has also made use of TCRF resources and articles in the past). Pop Fiction will have a live group at this convention, and well be holding a presentation on how this most recent episode went about proving the many negative worlds of Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

There will also be a live question and feedback part to the presentation. I thought this might be super interesting and cool to some of our members who contribute and are interested in TCRF and exploring the data mines of videogames. It might be entertaining to watch, but more importantly, it might be interesting to have some members with direct research experience and methods available at this event to discuss the implications of and importance that comes with data mining and game preservation/research.

Not that many of us will probably be attending this convention, but still, thought I'd share it in case anyone was or was interested enough to pop by.

Do you have an example? I know they cover some of the same types of stuff we do, but I didn't know they ever actually referenced/used us.

I might've been thinking of a Cracked article by mistake. But at the same time, I seem to remember one of the Pop Fiction episodes referencing a TCRF article for evidence. I went back and searched through their episodes but all of the abstracts are meant to catch attention, and don't have any links or references in them--this info is usually shown in-video. And I don't really feel like watching all 35 episodes to see if my memory is right D:

I'm pretty sure they've referenced TCRF's work with Zelda 64. Sure, TCRF isn't the only group to have covered it, but the resources in the video were obviously taken from the work here. One of the pictures was a screenshot of Zelda's very own page on the Wiki...
