Fixed, yes, but it is not the original prototype anymore because of this. It's playable, but - to put it in ROM dumping or "GoodTools" terms - it's just a bad dump or hacked dump.

As for releasing something or not, if someone more or less waved screenshots of a prototype you'd be interested in in your face, but doesn't want to release it or anything, wouldn't you be frustrated? That's the problem I and others have with situations like this, you basically come across as saying "Here, look what cool prototypes I have, and you DON'T. Ha-ha!"

Not trying to start a fight or anything, I'm just trying to make you realize how people may think about this. I respect that you don't want to release those prototypes for now, but then please don't go around posting screenshots of them and asking for other people's help in identifying differences from those.

Exactly; when I meant "unreleased prototype", I meant "not released to us". Easy to get confused since it could mean either thing.


(Exceptions are made when we're given the ROM privately with the promise of a future release, where we work on it in private until the thing's released and we post the article)

It's really tempting to just close this thread and move on.

Until the ROMs are released (which I don't see happening), I consider the games "lost" and not really worth my time. There are plenty of prototypes that have been released that are in need of thorough documentation.

A good example: The Virus/Dr. Mario prototypes that came out. We have one of them on the wiki already but the other two are missing, and they have a lot of neat stuff that needs documented.

After a longs hours of interdpth work

When I load the betas roms it work.

For exemple here is the metroid fusion proto main deck with his title set:





There are a lot of bugs but it s a good start...

Listen, what everyone is saying is basically, release the roms for everyone to look at, or GTFO . Stop waving your screenshots around showing us what we cannot have, due to the sick pleasure you get out of hoarding these roms and getting everyone else to do the dirty work without giving anything back in return.

It is cool that you found these ROMs and I can respect the fact you don't want to release the prototype ROMs. However, don't expect to learn a lot about what is different between your prototypes and the final release if you don't release them. The fact that you haven't even played the GBA Metroid games makes it even worse because you can't tell what is or isn't used without help. People here on TCRF, including myself, would definitely help you compare differences between your prototypes and the final release if you did release the ROMs. Posting random screenshots and a few videos isn't the way to find differences and, as other people have mentioned, nothing you post here can be documented on TCRF without the ROMs being released.

The only other thing I will tell you is make sure you back up your ROMs a few times. You don't want to lose the ROMs if your computer or hard drive bites the dust.

I appreciate your frustration, but personal attacks aren't necessary.

If this thread keeps descending into stupid, I'm gonna have to close it. It's not really helping the wiki -and- it's generally bringing out the worst in people.

Definetly not worth it. If you want us to work with you, fine, release the ROMs. If you want to wave it in our collective faces, leave, there are plenty of other places to ask for that kind of help.

You fail to understand we're a group who likes looking at the code and collecting the differences from the working data, not tilesets and tiny screenshots. You're asking us for help and, simultaneously, making it hell for us if we decide, however by the smallest chances, to.
