Before this gets completely insane I would like to address this...

I just took a look at the Ninja Gaiden Shadow page now, and actually I am unable to find any access method aside from a VBA .SGM file. The date on your blog predecessors the TCRF page I made, so yes, you found it first and deserve credit, though my research was independent of your blog and even found a well-recognised Gameshark access method.

Just saying again, I rarely check Youtube and Gibiru before making a page. Maybe I should from now on out of courtesy's sake to avoid these things in the future.

After a bit of disassembly, I found out that this menu is as easy as pressing Start at the aforementioned item select screen.

However, for some reason, when I tried to do this in both FCEUX and Nestopia, no input is ever read from the controller during that screen (even though the joypad is being polled like normal the whole time), so I can't actually perform this consistently - I was able to get the button press to register once in FCEUX by putting a breakpoint on the joypad register and then resuming, but this only worked one time.

I guess you can try it for yourself if you're able to get the controller to work consistently on the item select screen.

Anyway: "high score record clear" does what it says, "Hao jump mode 1/2" toggle between 00 and FF, I don't know what they do (if you're familiar with this game at all, feel free to investigate).

Neither this screen nor the item select are in the US NES version, likely because the cartridge is smaller than the disk (among other differences).

And I didn't mean to seem like I was making a big deal about the Game Boy game, it's no problem.

Edit:
I started looking into some NES stuff for the first time, I found some potential things for 2 games so far. Kinda doubt there's anything still enabled but a page could be made about the already known Debug Menu in Flintstones if nothing else.

Koei games always seem to have these DEBUG strings in them. Whether you can get anything out of it is the fun part though...

I also started looking into Wimbledon Championship Tennis MD to see if there was a "better" way to get into the debug code or a more precise description of what was going on. I'll post my results when I get them (also I should probably clear out a few other random backlogs while I'm at it...)
